Ice last week, temperatures near the 70s this past week (including yesterday) and then today it is in the low 30s with a wind chill in the low 20s. There are white out advisories for part of the state and a high chance for a wintry mix in central OK where I am.
I just want to burrow under a blanket and do NOTHING. :)

Certainly not as cold as where you are, but it was 29 on my back patio at 5am today. That's darn cold for my part of San Diego. brrr.

You'd probably hate knowing that it's 21 degrees here and I have my balcony door open to get the crisp air in. :D
ETA: Just checked, wind chill is at 8. And I did my errands without a coat this morning.

But it's a DRY cold, right? :)
I can hear the wind howling. I want to go outside and get the newspaper, but it's too cold. I hate the wind. The chill is down to the teens.
I need to run out and deliver Christmas presents to my teacher's assistant and her son, but I may postpone until tomorrow.

Yes, it's a dry cold. Trust me, if that were the temp in Virginia I'd be going NOWHERE!

Ain't that the truth! I hate the damp cold here! It's around 45 here today, cloudy and dreary.... would rather have 25 and clear than this ..

The snow has hit here. In less than an hour, I already have the grass covered. I'll try and take some pics to post later. :)
We sure got the wind this afternoon. Guess the cold is coming. Such yo-yo weather.

It was a balmy 39 when I got to work this morning (4:30am) and has dropped to right around 20 (8pm).
9" of snow later, I'm still in one piece despite the 1+ hour long commute home (23 miles).

Yes, not a pretty day out ) = We were forced off the road because of the weather going across MO. I was hoping to make it back home tonight, but I made it within 100 miles. The roads were getting nasty, and we saw 7 VERY bad single car accidents.
It's 22 dgs. here and a windchill of 4. The wind is howling like a cat in water! Of course we lost our power again for 4 hours . You would think that NIPSCO would check it out since the same neighborhoods go down all the time. I need to bke some cookies quickly and get some laundry done. Stay warm!
Vicky
The snow is blowing now. GRR.

Well yesterday it was cold and dreary, so far today it's 45 dgs and foggy. We are expecting some rain and thunderstorms? What in the Winter? Weird weather. I hope to get the Recycling done this morning, I have to go to the landfill to do that and then get the puppy out to the Dog Park before it starts raining....
Cold and damp and windy, not my cup of tea....sure wish I was futher south! Like Key West or St Marrten....
I am a firm believer that where and what time of year you are born sets your temp for life, and I was born in Bermuda in August, so I'm a warm weather girl.

Okay, I call mercy. I'm supposed to ski today but I just checked the weather/snow report. It's supposed to snow with wind gusts taking the wind chill down to -25 on the mountain. Um, no thanks. I'll ski next weekend and take some weekday days of in January to catch up. Yowza!

Wow, too cold for Robyn to go skiing?! I didn't know that was possible! ;) Just kidding - definitely sounds like a day to stay indoors.
Jennifer, have fun with the snow! Vicky, glad your power is back.
Sounds like most everyone's got a lot of dampness going on. Here, it's steady rain and several degrees above freezing, but it's expected to fall quite a few degrees below freezing by night, and the rain will turn into flurries. I'm scared it's going to be like a gigantic skating rink out there
Definitely a day to bake, in my opinion. Stay warm and dry, everyone!

Come on Robyn suck it up ... you're tougher than that!:) DH raced as a kid and that was in the 'old' days before the gear was better. He skied for the Loveland Basin ski team and at the top of the downhill course it was -30 to -40 regularly. It's just what you do when you are addicted to a sport such as skiing.

Yes, I could go up but I'll have (and have already had this season) days like that that I have to be there for and since I was at my aunt and uncle's last night I didn't have the right base layers with me for those kinds of temps. Considering I'll still ski over 30 days this season I'm not worried about it. :)

Clear and sunny today-the snow is almost all melted so I don't have any pictures to share. The dogs are enjoying the sunshine-they have been out most of the day basking.
Stay warm everyone!

Ugh, this is getting ridiculous! Yesterday the main highway to the mountains was closed most of the day due to blowing snow and from what I hear it was frigid on the mountain. My plan was to ski today but now I'm reconsidering again. It's currently -14 degrees up on the mountain before wind chill. I'm trying to motivate to head up there because I want to ski but it sure is hard to want to freeze my nose off.

Although it's 74 and beautiful now, looks like we'll have our "winter" in the next few days, with it going into the 30's tonight...time to bring out my "Pennsylvania clothes" for a few days...velvet and sweaters and boots...then they'll get packed away til next year:D

Robyn, I just hope the roads are clear and stay that way. DS is supposed to come home today. He has apparently gotten quite an introduction to snow and cold weather.
I probably haven't had more than 100 words out of him while he has been gone. He said he nearly got frostbite on his fingers the first day. Apparently his liners didn't fit properly and someone finally told him to take them off -- they can be a problem with large hands. He understood the layering and trapping air when I explained it, but he had never had to think about it before.
Sounds like we will have a hard freeze here tonight, so we need to protect some plants. We have a pump problem on the pool and are waiting for a service call. We can't run it tonight, so I hope we can cover it and keep from having more of a problem before we get the service.

They are predicting 22 degrees overnight in Austin! Brrrrr............ I know that doesn't seem that cold to many of you, but we just don't know how to do that kind of cold here in Texas!:D
I expect the same here. The forecast is upper 20s, but we are always several degrees below.

Yeah, it's supposed to be 13 degrees here tonight. Not to worry-we'll be back up to 63 by Saturday!
Beth, I hope your son makes it home w/o any trouble.
Robyn, I can't even imagine those kind of temperatures!

Sounds like most everyone's going to be hunkering down with a mug of hot chocolate or something equally cozy. (At least I hope so!) We're also expecting the Arctic freeze (so to speak). We also got about 4 inches of snow last night/this morning. So far it's not cold but I understand that by tonight it will be.
Beth, hope your son gets home without any delays!

Okay, I finally motivated and met up with my aunt and uncle in Vail for an afternoon on the slopes we skied from about noon to 4 with a short lunch/warm up break. Warmest temperature of the day was around 21 degrees before windchill. The only things on my body that got cold was my nose and my hips/*ss. One would think there's enough natural insulation there that I would have been well protected. ;) :p
