I bought these (http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7320231/c/1748.html) totally decadent pumps at Zappos back in May and I've never worn them yet. I've never spent so much on a pair of shoes (I bought them for full price).

I just found some almost-equally decadent, almost-identical navy patent peep toe pumps at Macy's on the clearance rack for $31.95. They are exactly the same except there's no cute bow on the toe - same heel height, same navy patent color, etc.

So I decided that I'd return the Zappos shoes for the extra $100 credit. But the customer service woman told me that they have an exchange policy that doesn't require Zappos to receive the returned merchandise before they send out your replacement order. You just call them, tell them what you want to buy and what you would like to exchange. They send out your stuff and as long as your returned item gets back to them within 14 days, you're good.

So now I'm thinking of doing some shopping and not just a straight return... :D

Amazing amazing customer service. They should bottle the stuff and sell it to other companies. It's also very effective for them not to have to refund money.

I want to join you in your song of praise.

My son came to me several weeks ago while I was cooking dinner to tell me that he could not find in stock anywhere on the net or in 3D, the footwear (crocs mammoth) that I had requested for a Christmas. He told me where he had been and asked if he was looking in the wrong place. I suggested Zappos - from reading the discussions here about them.

The next morning about 10:30 the doorbell rang and there was a box from Zappos:eek:. My first thought was that my husband must have stumbled in there and ordered them awhile back -not telling my son. My second thought was that my son made a mistake when ordering and submitting to having them shipped overnight for a fabulous fee.

On the drive home from school that afternoon, I told Sonny that he got a package and relayed my fears. After he snuck them away he came back to assure me that neither was the case. - it was just unbelieveably fast free shipping.

Well, they just won me over.

some more high praise for Zappos.
Back in august we bought FIL velcro tennies. He'd had a small stroke and was having trouble with tie shoes. thought all was done. then in oct we heard that the size was wrong and he needed bigger and wider. FIL is a wisp of a man and wore an 9 medium. we were told he needed bigger and wider. so we made our best guess and exchanged for bigger and wider. turns out still not big enough or wide enough. I think we went up in size and width 4 times. finally ending up with a 10 EEEE. He needs to wear a brace on his foot, something no one mentioned until the well into the process.

I explained the situation to Zappos customer service and they were friendly, understanding and prompt. free shipping back and forth thru the whole ordeal. No red tape or hassles at all! wonderful service and with a smile.
