VERY techno-savvy!!! I am IMPRESSED!!! :)

I'll have to wait for DH to help me. The instructions were as clear as mud to me!!!! :)

Still avatar-less,

DARN....I tried to add an avatar and all I got was an x under my name......but then I don't know anything about computers. I will have to wait until help arrives in the form of Valerie.

I've tried to do the avatar thing about 6 times but it won't work. I can't figure out why. Let's see if it works this time.

Nope... not even an "x." Oh dear, and I consider myself pretty computer savvy.

I wanted to put one in from my hard drive, but we can't do that - yet! Until then, this one will do!

Just checking to see if my avatar worked...

WELL... <hmph!!!> it didn't work!
What did you guys do after you put in your avatar's URL??! What am I missing here?!!! :(

Thanks!
Lynn

LATER YET: Well, woo hoo! I got an avatar! I was trying to be ultra-creative and use an avatar from cyber-land, but decided I'd rather use one of CLs than be avatar-less!!! This cupcake was the closest to CHOCOLATE I could get!!! :) Fun and fun!

LynnB....when you pasted your url did you click Submit button. If the graphic was too big you would have received a message telling you that. Make sure that your graphic is not more than 50 pizels. Don't give up! :D

Sue,
Yes, I clicked "Submit". I don't know what happened??! I don't think the graphic is over 50 x 50 pixels... it is a tiny little PIXIE of a graphic!!! :)

I guess I'll have to wait for DH.
But thanks for the info!!!

Lynn

PS Do we think we may soon be able to use PHOTOS??! Wouldn't that be awesome!

I'm testing my avatar and my new signature. Still can't think of a clever title. Guess I have to remain a senior for a while (in college of course!) ;)

Ok...I'm testing.....this is not the one I wanted, but at least I think there's a picture there!!

I *USED* to be a computer literate person...then the world zoomed past me!!! :D

OK. The avatars from CL seem to work just fine. However, I cannot get the one I put on my website to show up no matter what I try. It meets the size requirements.

LynnB and LauraB....something is wrong with the custom avatar. It is not us. I tried to change to another and it won't take and now I can't get the first one that I used to show. It has to be something wrong on their end. The only ones that work are the CL avatar that are provided to us. Grrrrrrrrr

Thanks Mamasue. I thought I was losing my mind!

So, it also seems like we cannot insert graphics in our posts either, because my picture should work in my post even if not as an avatar. Oh, well.

Hi,

Here is what my "Avatar" looks like.

"Avatar," another new word for me, I had to look it up in the dictionary, Here's what my dictionary has for definitions.

AVATAR

1a. One regarded as the incarnation of embodiment of some known model or catagory.

1b. An entity regarded as an extreme or notable complete manifestation of its kind; Exempler; archtype: An Avatar of Stupidity.

2. Hindu Mythology. The decent to earth of a diety in human or animal form. Used as a genetin form of the incarnations of Vishnu.

Well, just thought you might like to see the definitions. I did.

I like the first one the best.

My Avatar is the embodiment of a kind of food.

Ed

Susan....go to User CP (at top of page); edit option; go down the page and click Change Avatar; choose one of your liking (custom is not working right now) and then Submit Modification.

Thanks Mamasue, let me see if it worked!! Now, how do you put the info at your name instead of Senior Member?

kwormann

SUsan, also user CP, edit profile, custom user title.

You can add a signature line there too....ops, mine has disappeared. I need to put it back in!
