Hi Everyone!

I have ambitious hopes of learning how to cook fabulous meals! I'm a recent subscriber to Cooking Light and I would love to cook the Fragrant Chicken in Creamy Almond Sauce found in the August issue on page 101. The recipe calls for slivered almonds, toasted and ground. I have no idea what to do. Any help out there?

Thanks!!

Ok the slivered part is easy...buy a package of "slivered" almonds.

to "Toast", put them in a skillet over medium heat and stir frequently until they become fragrant and start to brown. (continue stirring until most of the nuts are light brown.) Then pour into another dish so they will stop toasting.

to "grind", put cooled nuts in a blender or food processor and whirl them around till they are fine crumbs.

Hope this helps

Lee- Watch the nuts closely when browning. Almonds go from lightly toasted to burned to a crisp in a matter of moments!
