Canadians - Great place to order spices!

I have been searching high and low for a good Canadian place to buy spices and herbs online. I've been so tempted to order from Penzeys, but I'm afraid the duty and exchange would have done me in. Galloways Foods in Vancouver www.gallowaysfoods.com has a wonderful selection, excellent prices and reasonable shipping. I just received my order today. Several curries, Herbs de Provence, Kaffir Lime Leaves, vanilla powder and several others. I am so excited. Just wanted to share.:p

Thanks for sharing that source Tina. I grew up in Vancouver and it was always a ritual to stock up on spices and baking supplies there at Christmas. I will check out their site. Penzey's sounds wonderful but way to expensive for us Canucks!!

Thanks for the tip! I ordered a Penzey's catalogue and read it like a novel but was floored by the shipping/exchange/customs/prices. I'll give these guys a try - but the shipping from B.C. to N.S. might be scary too?!? Sigh.

For a large box of spices I paid $5.70 for shipping through Canada Post. It took approximately one week. They also offer UPS etc. for quicker shipping options. I was really impressed. Americans may also like to check this out, because the exchange rate is so favourable at the moment.
