My office closed at 1:00 on the 21st, which seems a long time ago. It's a nice break, and much appreciated by all, but there's something jarring about that first day back in the new year.
How's everyone feeling about getting back to work and into the routine again? Glad for the return to normalcy? Sorry to see the end of the holidays? Thinking about spring?

I just want one more day... :(

My last day of work (at a customer's), was the 21st also. I did do some office work at home, but don't really count that since I didn't necessarily have to take a shower to go upstairs!
I have one more day, today, and then I have a customer tomorrow. And a new knitting class starts on Friday, so I think I can work one day!
It will be strange to get back to customers, but good too. I have had plenty to do and haven't been bored, but will enjoy getting back to work.
Today I have plans to go to Office Depot to get some new year organizing things for my office.

As a bean counter I was not allowed to partake of the extended vacations enjoyed by many (like my husband. grrr) since the books don't close themselves so I worked last Friday and New Year's eve (even though it was a company holiday). Actually, I'd had about enough family time by then! :) Instead of going to work though I'd have preferred the gift of a day by myself.

I'd kill for one more day! That alarm went off way too early this morning. The only good thing is it's a short week!

I'm fighting off a cold so I really could have used more time.

I opted to take one extra day today, and I'm glad. I'm viewing Thursday and Friday as a minor interruption of my two-week vacation! :D (Actually, while I brought my laptop home, I haven't even looked at it, so Thursday will be spent culling e-mail, etc. Not too much heavy lifting involved with that.)

I'm just dragging today, even though I managed to get up early yesterday.... and like KristiB, I'm fighting a cold, too and would have liked one more day to sit around, rest and drink plenty of liquids, blah, blah, blah

No. Between a cat that's sneezing up a storm and keeping me up all night because he wants to be near his mama when he doesn't feel good, that time of the month and the cramps are raging, an ankle that I messed up weeks ago just keeps hurting and a nightmare drive down from the mountains yesterday that instead of the normal 2 hours took 3 hours 45 minutes, I could use another day to rest. Not gonna happen though.

And while I'm at it, (((Milo)))

I'm a SAHM, so it's another day of bonbons and soaps for me. :D (Don't throw tomatoes; I'm KIDDING. ;) ) No, I keep the work hours that DH does (although I'm well aware that it's much harder to get all dressed & out the door by 6:30 a.m. than to merely start being productive by 6:30 a.m. as many of you have had to do today). So it's back to the alarm clock today for us both. I had high hopes of having a few hours to tackle backlogged paperwork, e-mail, laundry, and clutter before my kids woke up, but that didn't happen; they're not sleeping in today, for some reason. Got an all-day brisket started and cleaned up my disaster of a kitchen; hope to move really fast today (but HAD to check in here :p ) & get the Dickens Villages packed away with the kids' help, the backlogs of everything tackled, and a nice dinner made (we're sick of leftovers by now, but the brisket takes so long that it'll probably be tomorrow's dinner, which leaves me back to Square 1 for tonight). Best wishes to all of you working outside the home this week, especially if you're fighting illness or weather. :)

Me too! It's below zero here, I just drove back from Chicago, and I have to be at work in 1 hour and 15 minutes. All I want to do is stay home and put my house in order, keeping myself out of the frigid temperatures! And maybe take a nap. :(

A little of all of it. I always want more time off - breaks always seem to go too fast - but on the other hand, I can become such a slug that I need to get back into a routine! On the other hand, I LOVE not having a schedule for the boys - monitoring homework, making sure they get to bed on time, getting up early.

I have to admit I AM thinking about spring. But boy, it's a long way off. I'll console myself by pouring over seed catalogs and planning what I can fit into my two little plots while also looking forward to adding 2 more plots this year. I also console myself with the thought that we are past the shortest day of the year and the days will keep getting longer!

It wasn't too bad getting up this morning - considering how late I was staying up and sleeping in - and only 2 more days and it's Friday! :)

Back to school today wasn't too bad. The kids weren't as wound up as I thought they'd be.:) It was nice to come in midweek as we only have 2 more days till the weekend!!!;)

My university closed on the 21st and today is the first day back, which hasn't been too bad. My boss made her traditional call in "sick" day.

My first day back since the 21st is tomorrow, and, no, I'm not looking forward to it. I could SOOO be a domestic goddess . . .

Today was my first day back since the 21st. It sucked. Not looking forward to tomorrow either. =( At least it's a short week.

Today was my first day at my new job so actually I was pretty excited. I also found out that I may be working at the courthouse that is 20 minutes closer two days a week, so that has made me happy too. All that being said, the alarm did go off rather early this morning.

My kids are not back to school until TUESDAY the 8th! so...a few more days of domestic tranquility (?) for me. They are both starting to get a bit bored - and so I spend time as a referee. Today we found a dove that the cats had attacked and took it to the wildlife rehabilitation office. The ladies there think it will be okay since it survived the ride over. It had lost some tail feathers.
