I thought I'd start a new thread as it's a new week!:)

Valerie - I saw from this morning that you are still not feeling well! YUCK. Please take it easy getting back into the grind - Is your DH feeling better? How was YOUR weather over the weekend?

I got my new DVD's today!:D Yesterday I really sweated it out - I did one of the new FIRM DVD's - the name escapes me. But it was a good mix of weights and cardio..... So today I tried Stepboxing with Kelly Coffey-Myers. Oh my.:o Talk about fast. I think I'm getting old!!! I was able to keep up with the 4 stepboxing segments. And I'm sure once I get the routines down I'll really be able to umpf it up:p I did 1 out of 2 cardioweight segments (she didn't say what lb weights she recommends - so I just did 3lbs to get the hang of her routine) and finished with abs.

Tomorrow I'll try another of the new FIRM DVD's - this one is with Emily (not Burn and Shape - I think it's called Cardio Fusion??? The names are ALL the same!)

I'm losing weight:) I started in Nov and it continues. I was the lowest I've been in 8 years yesterday morning. I was concerned I'd get back over the 140 mark before the holidays - yesterday I was 137! (maybe I have a tapeworm!!;) ) So I'll keep going and see where I end up!!

Hope everyone had a great Monday! It was 60 degrees today - beautiful!:)

I'm feeling marginal so lots of time to post! Still achy and laryngitis although my throat is OK. DH has been back working out but he came down with this several days before I did, and I seem to have gone through it twice. Trust me, once was enough, and the second time was worse. breathing hard sends me into a coughing fit so another day of leisure. Our weather was windy and raiuny with tons of snow in the mountains so we didn't miss much. DH wants to do something Wed and I'm not sure if I'm ready.

Charisse, congrats on breaking the "pound" barrier! 140 is a hard one for me too, and I haven't seen it a couple years. seems always to be around 143 no matter what I do. get down to 140 and then mysteriously, back up again. oh well... this is a new year and if I followed your method and cut down on my wine I might have better luck. as it is, I get hungry in the middle of the night. last night is the first time in years that I got so hungry that I had to get up and eat something. a couple (6) cashews and a swallow of fruit juice at midnight. then I went back to sleep. I've been running a temp and must be burning extra & my stomach was screaming for something.

Those sound like good workouts! keep it up!

Ugh Valerie! This stuff seems to be going around. It was a balmy 68 degrees here and our school nurse told us all to "air out" the rooms. Too much sickness!!! Hang in there!!!

I did one of my new FIRM ones - Body Lite or as repackaged Total Cardio Fusion:rolleyes: Anyway it was a good light workout targeted to rest and re-energize the body. Light weights/yoga/pilates movements - lots of long lean stretch moves. I didn't sweat too much but did feel like I am stretched out well.

Sam has a skating party tonight so need to get dinner together!

Hope everyone is doing well!!!:)

I'm gonna keep posting - this thread keeps me honest!!:)

I did Fat Burning Cardio (FIRM) today - I had zero energy after school but made myself go downstairs. At the end I was better.:) Tomorrow I need to do some weights and hopefully get to Cathe's Coremax!

It's Wednesday - week is half over!! Hope everyone is staying healthy! Check in when you can!

Hi ladies!! Things are busy here, as usual, not much time to check in, but didn't want you to feel lonely! ;)

Valerie, are you feeling better? Take it easy - if it's a respiratory thing, it's probably better to rest than push yourself.

Charisse, congrats on the weight!! 137 would be my ideal weight. I've been there, but creeped up recently. My body seems to want to stay around 143, like Valerie. I found I can maintain there without starving myself. But, if I overindulge, of course I gain, like I did during the holidays. :o I have lost a couple pounds over the last week or so, so I'm going in the right direction. Aren't new workouts fun?! I read on videofitness that the Firm is releasing some new workouts in March.

Charisse, I think you are getting our weather. It was in the 60s over the weekend, then thunderstorms and lots of rain, and now it's back in the 20s/30s.

I've been following Cathe's rotation, with a few modifications. I've done the crunches, dips and pushups most days. Saturday I did Imax3 with just the step platform, no risers. I did OK with it - but it's really high impact and lots of jumping over the step. Sunday nothing, Monday Muscle Max, yesterday Tracy Staehle's Step Sweatfest (fun!) and today Christi Taylors Cardio Collectibles (boring and repetitive!!). I subbed yesterday and today for Cathes workouts since one was supposed to be running and I didn't think I'd make it to the gym and the other was her Maximum Instensity Cardio, which I don't care for.

Tomorrow is Muscle Endurance.

Michelle, how are you doing? Staying warm?

I'm still somewhat sick. keep waking up at midnight coughing up horrendous gunk and then trying to go back to sleep. last night I woke up but didn't take any cough medicine for the first time in a week. this morning I'm somewhat better. this has not been a headcold but a seige!

I envy you both doing all these fun workouts while I'm sitting wrapped in a heavy robe trying to decide if I can maybe do something little today. Joanne, your back must be 100% fixed with all that you're doing. I especially like Muscle Max. I have Muscle endurance too but haven't used it for a while.
Charisse, you'll like Coremax but it's just an add-on after another workout. You can get thru it in 15 minutes so it's not long and intimidating.

Valerie, oooh, that doesn't sound like fun. Sorry to hear you're still under the weather. You'll be back with us soon, I'm sure. Hang in there and start back slow.

My back is about 95% better. No more pain, but just feels a bit weak at times, but much, much better. I can do just about everything I was doing before I hurt it.

I did Muscle Endurance today. Did pretty good. Hate all those leg presses, though. Tomorrow the cardio from Cathe's Kickbox and Bootcamp workouts from her new series on are the schedule. I've done them both before, but not together. Hope I survive!!

Valerie - you must have it bad. I can't stand sickness that lingers on and on. I've been luckily lately (knock on wood!!) Just concentrate on getting yourself healthy - no more gunk!!

Joanne - great job with the rotation! How long is the cardio from both sections??? Our weather is back to 40's with rain - cold for this weekend. You're in Chicago right? Comes right through to us a day or so later!!:)

I did BSS3 with Stephanie today. I realized that I've lightened up on my weight work. A lot of the DVD's I've been doing either use light 3-5 lbs or don't use them at all. So today was a struggle!! I think I need to heavy up a bit!

Tomorrow may be a rest day - I've worked out 5 days in a row!! Woo hoo.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Just reporting in that I DID exercise today but low level. Did 15 on the bike with hand weights, 20 treadmill slower and less incline, and 20 on the elliptical at level 9 instead of 10, and #1 of coremax. I'm still coughing and didn't want to start breathing too hard and trigger a coughing fit. Felt OK but I got tired quickly. so getting back on track.. gotta catch up to you two work out maniacs...
