Review: Chipotle-Maple Sweet Potatoes, July 2001

I know quite a few people liked this dish but it did not work for me. I made this for our CL dinner and, although I followed the recipe exactly, it was too spicy for everyone. We are a group that likes highly seasoned and spicy food, but even the toughest tongues thought the heat was too high. My DH loves his food fiery and he did not like the leftovers, even though he usually will eat anything.

:( Jessica- I am so sorry this didn't work out- it has become one of our favorites- it's DHs staple grill side and he's so proud of it!

I'm sure you could play around a bit with the chipotles- fewer, less sauce/less basting during grilling. I hate to see this not work for you!!

Oops:p I was thinking of the Grilled Sweet Potatoes with Chipotle Sauce from...I can't remember the issue.

Still, I loved the Chipotle-Maple Sweet Potatoes from July '01, as well! Same thoughts as above- less chipotle perhaps?

We loved this recipe made as is. Maybe it depends on the brand of Chipotles used....some brands might be hotter than others.
