I just started watching this show and am really liking it. Seeing what the logistics are for taking 8 kids anywhere or caring for them at home is amazing!!

I've seen bits and pieces but don't watch it. I will say that Jon and Kate were here a few months ago giving a talk (organized by Moms of Multiples) and they had quite a turnout!

We watch it faithfully... DH & I just sit there & howl at the goings-on in that household. First of all, those kids are so darned cute... and it takes us back to our boys' toddler days.
We thought we had it tough with 2 boys born 3 years apart!!! ;)
And how cool was the polar bear exhibit at the Pittsburgh Zoo???
I enjoy that show but can never seem to remember to tune in! I'm really bad about keeping track of days/times shows air, so there you have it. I do like seeing how things are so wild and out of control and yet run smoothly at the same time. I remember going out of my mind with two boys. How they hold it together is impressive. I do think Kate is super controlling because she has to be. She's gotta keep that ship afloat.

I saw the marathon (parts of it) over the holidays. What a logistical nightmare running that house must be!
I cannot stand Kate though, so I probably won't watch regularly though. The way she talks to Jon is very distasteful to me.

Agree. He definitely has the patience of a saint to let some of the stuff roll off him. The thing about the girls only wearing pink hair ties/clips when they go out, and the other colors for staying home, and that they all had to have matching jackets for a July 4th outing ... with 8 kids, I'd think it enough that they're all bathed and in clean clothes, you know? :D

I love this show!! I am not sure how I got so into it, but I think it helps me deal with my one (1!!) toddler. Sometimes I really don't understand why Kate does things the way she does, but I think it is just how she copes and survives.

We watch mainly to see the kids. They're so adorable! But I agree, Kate definitely needs to get a grip. She's waaaay too anal about some stuff.

Agreed...I've only watched about 3/4 of one episode and that was enough for me. She pokes at him about the most inane things, and then the eye rolling. Nope! Not for me!

I watch on occassion, and am absolutely amazed that their house works! But to all those that aren't too fond of Kate, don't you think it's somewhat of a good thing that they have someone anal around to keep track of everything? I'd lose my mind in a heartbeat with as much as they have going on. I think she's pretty fantastic, but will agree that her husband is a saint.

And the poor cleaning lady that she fired after one day! She must have redeeming qualities but she's way too controlling.

It is funny that you all say that about Kate because I work with a lady who was on the production staff of that show- it is not just John that gets that treatment!

I totally agree! I've seen most of the episodes and I really can't believe how mean she is to him sometimes. On the Toys R Us episode she was just over the top the way she treated him.
Does anyone else find it strange that none of the grandparents are ever around? They could certainly use the help. All they have ever said is "the grandparents aren't involved in their daily lives."

Somehow that doesn't surprise me.

I think that's strange too.
In my head, I have a pretty good picture of what Kate is really like. It isn't a pretty picture. I can't imagine rolling my eyes at my DH - totally disrespectful.

I can only take it for about 5 or 10 minutes at a time befor Kate gets on my nerves.
Oh man can you imagine when they all start driving? I'm having enough trouble with just one driving I can't imagine 6 of them!

I have a strange fascination with this show and I have it on my Tivo list.
My husband can't stand hearing all the screaming and it gives him nightmares because we are going through fertility treatments (though my clinic would never let someone get pregnant with that many babies - the last time they had triplets was over two years ago).

You know, I always wondered why the sisters and brothers, grandparents weren't there. Only one show I saw where the sister of one of them came and got the older twins.
Kate is anal. I saw the one show where she was wanting to hire a maid. BUT I can't imagine living her life. She may be anal, but she IS organized...

Jon's grandmother was at the carnival birthday party and Kate's brother helped Jon on a few episodes. Jon's father passed away a few years ago.
I watch the show but Kate's really over the top. She obsesses over the littlest things (like hair clips.)
