I'm back! I'm back! I'm back!! I haven't slept more than 2 hours in the last 24 due to all-night flights, screaming babies, hard airline seats, a nasty sunburn on my nose and a snoring hubby that had NO trouble sleeping on the plane...but I'M HOME!! Maui was wonderful, but we're glad to be back.

I left last Saturday just praying that the boards would be up when I returned, but what in the world have you people done?? ;) I still don't know exactly how to read these things or what to click and when to click it, but hopefully I'll learn quickly.

Thanks to everyone who said they're 'Parasail Prayer' for me on Tuesday. We did it!! The boat captain let DH and I go up together even though we were a bit past the weight limit, and I'm SO glad he did. I would have lost it by myself, I'm sure of it. They let us out 800 feet and kept us in the air for 10 minutes. DH took photos (with disposable camera just in case!) while we were in the air, and we just got them back this afternoon. I'm glad there are photos, because I don't remember a whole lot of the view! I was too busy chanting every prayer I could think of and promising to work with needy children if He would just let me land safely!!

Our condo was wonderful, the weather sunny and 85-88 most of the time, the food terrific! We spent hours out on the lenai (balcony) of the condo just gazing out at the Pacific. We drove around the entire island one day (10 hour drive!) and then the next day took a 5 hour Snorkel and Snuba trip. All in all, we beached, relaxed, shopped, ate WAY too much, and generally had a ball. The only setback was Tuesday afternoon when my dear hubby told me he didn't WANT me to put sunscreen on him because he wanted 'a little color'. A half hour later I sprayed sunscreen on him anyway against his will. Tuesday night he was begging me to spray him with Solarcain! Severe burns all over his body. I got nailed on my nose, and I'm peeling like a banana right now, but I'll live! We kept him covered the rest of the trip, and he's better now, but it was scary for a day or two! Anyway, if anyone wants a recommendation of a condo on Maui, let me know! The place was comfortable and centrally located just north of Kaanapali and it was only $79 per night.

Glad to be home!! I missed you all! :D

Welcome back! Glad to hear you had such a great time! 85-88º, too warm for me! Going to Alaska in two weeks, 55-60º...my idea of great weather! Of course, right now it's 94º at 11:00 pm so 85º might be good, too!
Have a blast searching out this new BB, all kinds of new goodies!

We missed you, Jewel! Glad you are back, but so glad the two of you had a chance to get away and go a little crazy (sunburns notwithstanding).

Now, to figure out these darn boards-we're all still getting used to it!

Welcome Back Jewel!!
Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time, in spite of the burns! Parasailing, you are really adventurous.
I tried snorkelling one time and practically drowned my DH when the fish got a little too close for my comfort zone in Bermuda. They all come right up to your face-egads!

WELCOME BACK Jewel! Its good to have you home. Glad your vaca was a great one. Yep, the board is different and still has its glitches to boot. It will take a little time to figure out, but its fun.

Welcome home, Jewel! We've been talking about you while you were gone (good things) and just imagining your reaction to the new board. It's driving some of us crazy but fun crazy.

Welcome back - glad you had a great time. I am getting excited now as we are going to Waikiki in less than 2 1/2 weeks. I can't stand the flight, but getting there is the reward - only problem for us is we get in at midnight, so we miss all the beautiful view from the plane.

Thanks everyone!! Funnybone, we arrived at 9:15pm ourselves, so we missed the view from the plane also. Then, our return flight was at 11pm, so takeoff was dark too! I don't know about Waikiki, but sunset on Maui was at 7:15pm. Gets dark earlier because it's closer to the equator. Still, that's all the more reason to ParaSail!! You'll get the 'airplane' view without the hard 'ol airplane seats and the tiny little window! :D I'm so glad I went 'flying' now, but at the time I was terrified. Of course, sharing a kiss with DH way, way up in the air was worth the whole thing! ;)
