"Go to first new post"?????

I'm wondering if there is any difference or benefit in clicking on the down arrow ("go to first new post") at the left of the Thread column or clicking on the Thread column topic itself?

I'm also still wondering about the size of my opening screen - it is too big for my computer screen. I know this has just popped up again but...I could still use some help. I've checked my screen resolution as recommended and it is 800X600.

"go to the first new post" is good if you've read all the posts already, and then someone posts a new one, you click on that, and it will take you directly to that new post. You won't have to start at the beginning of the thread and scroll all the way down to the bottom, or click through to the last page if the thread is a long one. I personally like this feature a lot.

Can't help you with the screen size problem, though. Sorry. There are some computer geniuses out there though - I'm sure someone will be able to give some good advice.
