Hi all,
I hope some one can help me. I would like to make the appetizer on page 152 of the July 2001 issue but I have never used split peas before. Does this recipe use fresh, canned, or dried split peas?
Thanks in advance
Shannon

I don't know the recipe to which you are referring, but since I have never seen fresh or canned split peas, and because dried split peas are used in every recipe I know and are easy to work with, my guess is that DRIED is what is called for.
Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

Do you mean the greek appetizer? If so, Luv2cook made this for our supper club and it was very good! Id write to her and ask!

Split peas are peas that are dried and split along their natural seam. So, if a recipe calls for split peas, it means dried peas. :D
I hadn't noticed the split pea dip until I read your post. It looks so good, I think I'll try too!
