Hi Emilycat, do you have any advice for
me on training for the Falmouth Road Race on
August 12th, a 10K on the Cape. I know we
didn't get a chance to talk about it in
Birmingham (or take a short run there) but
since you're the expert I thought I would ask!

Oh, gosh, I wouldn't go so far as to call myself an expert, but flattery is always welcome.... ;)
Good for you for doing this race! It sounds like it will be lovely.
Without knowing your current mileage, training patterns, etc., it's kind of hard to steer you in the right direction, but I'd definitely recommend (as always) visiting www.runnersworld.com and www.kicksports.com They both have excellent training plans for runners of all ability levels. If you look at those, though, and have any questions you think I can answer, I'd love to try to help out. And I'm sure some of the other runners on the board should have some great feedback for you, too. Good luck! :)

Emily- Just had to mention that I LOVE your quote. :) After having not been able to run for almost 4 days I really felt that way! It is sooooo true. Gina

I'd like to return the compliment -- your's is awesome! I love Don Kardong; do you read his articles in RW?

Thanks Emily! I do read his articles (along with nearly everything else in RW) :)
Cindy- just to add to Emily's thoughts.... I just started a 10K training program from the RW website. It is Hal Higdon's training guide for a novice 10ker. As I have never run anything close to that distance, I thought it a good program for me. They also have an "advanced" version.
Now, I just need to be REALLY brave and sign up for a 10K. Gina
