Well, I'll get us started this week!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
I did CTX Kickbox on Saturday and GS Chest & Triceps plus Coremax #2 this morning. I'm so tickled that I actually got up to work out --- on a Monday morning!!!! GS Legs is on the schedule for tomorrow.

Valerie -- Thanks for the info about Drillmax. It *almost* sounds fun!

Wanda -- Hope you and your family are finding strength and peace.

Happy Tuesday!! It was GS Legs this morning -- first time for me. Wow, am I going to be sore tomorrow! Lots of room to grow with this one -- I wasn't able to do all of the reps yet and of course, my weights were lighter than Cathe's!

Looking forward to a nice spring-like day -- it's supposed to be 65 here today!

Wanda, so sorry to hear about your loss.

Charisse, no, thankfully Jameson is not into the "girl" thing yet. ;) At least not as far as I know. That's cute about your son buying a stuffed animal for the girl! But, I know what you mean. It's like a whole new world. Although last year my eight-year old son regularly brought home "gifts" from a girl in his class who seemed to have quite the crush on him.

Stacy, yea, Gym Style Legs is a tough one! Wow, I'm jealous - it was 6 degrees here this morning!

Let's see - what have I been doing?? Nothing Friday or Saturday. Sunday was Imax2, yesterday was Circuit Max and today was Kelly Coffey Meyer's Step Boxing. Loved that one! It's her 2nd one and the first time I did it I had a hard time with the combos. This time was easier and alot of fun. I'm following Cathe's Feb. rotation, but didn't feel like doing Low Max today so I subbed that one. Tomorrow is supposed to start the Slow and Heavy workouts, but I think I'm going to sub other weight workouts. We'll see.

Have a great day all!!

Hi everyone!. I did Muscle Max on saturday. I like that one for a nice overall burner and it has a pretty tough ab section at the end. and then sunday we did a very long tough xc ski in manning park. It probably wasn't that difficult except conditions were not as nice as we hoped. very icy and nasty chunky snow that wasn't real bad going uphill, but was very hard coming down. Ended up taking us 7 hours RT with about an hour out for lunch . Took darn near as long to go down as to go upo, and that's unusual. But a beautiful sunny day and some amazing snow formations from strong winds that drifted the snow in amazing shapes and tunnels. Last time we did this ski there were probably 2 dozen people up there, but sunday we were the only people all day.

Monday was a day off for both of us.

Alleycat, you are absolutely right about it feels when the critters aren't behind bars. much more exciting as soon as you leave the car behind and walk. We've been doing this a long time and have a pretty good feel for what's OK. Bison you need to be most careful of, they aren't slow and docile if they don't want to be. We always give those guys a wide berth. We've gotten very close to bighorns, often they come close while grazing and seem curious about people, especially if they're in a group. 10 feet away is not unusual if you sit quietly. I would not try to get that close to them, but if they come to us I'm OK with it. we usually sit and eat our lunch and they walk around us without being upset at all. Elk won't do that at all.

OMG having major internet/cable issues - It's almost like going back to dial up it's been sooooooo slow! Thus I haven't been here for a while - too frustrating!!

Sat I did Kelly's Stepboxing (the second one) Joanne - I too have really come to love this workout - such a good cardio!!! No workout on Sunday - Monday I did Total Body Time Crunch. Today I'm going to do Burn and Shape.

Saturday's meal was fabulous! We had mussels in a saffon cream sauce for appetizers, I had an arugula salad with melted brie on top, then I had a fish from Australia sauteed and on top of veggies and sweet potatoes. DH had a fillet. Bottle of wine from New Zealand :) :) Happy happy.

Stacy - Great workouts!! I'm sure your legs will be sore tomorrow. Love that feeling!!;) Enjoy the nice weather - it's soooo windy here!

Joanne - Brrrrr that cold weather is supposed to be moving in tomorrow!!!! I get such a good core workout from that stepboxing DVD! I can really feel my obliques working!

Valerie - Wow you must feel like you are in your own world when it's just the two of you out there!!! What a workout it is too!

Wanda - hugs to you and your daughter.

I have to end today's post with a woohoo! I had to buy new black pants on Saturday - (I bought a size 6!!) It really has been since college (20 yrs ago)that I've had clothes smaller than an 8, 10, 12, 14..... etc.. Granted it's probably just the style but I did a little happy dance in the dressing room when I realized I had to go back out and get a smaller size:D

Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!

Wanda, I'm sorry to hear of your family's loss.

Charisse, congrats on the new pants!! Very exciting! Yes, I love VFP. Last week we walked the loop. My Breast Cancer 3-Day team did a lot of training there -- our longest training walk was 18 miles in the park  Did you ever walk at Valley Green / Wissahickon Creek Trail? That's another favorite of mine.

You're all doing great with your workouts. I'm not :( I was too sore after PLB and the 100 walking lunges, so missed 2 days. Then time and life interfered this weekend and Monday. Today I was just lazy. But it's okay, because I had a big epiphany.

I had so much energy the 2 weeks I was good. And I ate better because I felt better. This week, I'm sluggish and tired and not eating as well.

Fortunately, I'm back on track tomorrow :)

How are the Kelly Coffey DVDs? I love Cathe, but wouldn't mind finding some new instructors.

Charisse - Congrats on the pant size!! It's nice to have results confirmed in multiple ways!! I hear you on the array of sizes. I have a few of those myself -- it's nice to be on the smaller end for a change. :D Last summer my shorts were too small; this year they may actually be too big when the time comes.

My DS is 8, too!! He's in third grade. Funny that you have one my son's age and one Joanne's son's age. No girlfrieds here but definately notices female anatomy and is starting to ask some questions we're not really ready for! That would freak me out to learn that DS gave a girl a gift and managed to keep it a secret!! Not sure which would surprise me more - that he did it or that he kept it a secret.

Valerie -- You ski outings are so much fun to read! I can't imagine what it's like to experience all of it.

Joanne -- How have you felt with the February rotation? Do you like the three days of weights in a row? This is my first week to do three in a row -- late start -- but yesterday, I really felt tired and hungry. I do feel better today so it may have been a fluke. GS Legs was definately the most difficult of the series for me. My legs are really feeling it today!

Alleycat -- Hang in there! You'll get back on track. You are so right about how exercise and eating well work together.

Today was GS Back, Shoulders & Biceps. Piece of cake after yesterday!! Moving on to cardio tomorrow -- looking forward to working out some of the soreness in my lower body.

Charisse, congrats on the pants size! That is such a wonderful feeling! I've occasionally gotten into a 6, but my body doesn't seem to want to stay there! I, too, used to have a wide array of sizes! I decided to give away all my bigger ones and vowed never to need them again. Hopefully I won't! Mmmm, that dinner sounds great. :D

Stacy, I have three sons, ages, 8, 10 and 11. And a 5 year old daughter. One of our funniest moments ever at the dinner table was when my now 10 year old was about 7. Out of nowhere he says, boys have pe**es and girls have "virginia's" DH couldn't help but chime in with "Virginia is for lovers". ;) Anyway, back to workouts ;) . I think I like the February rotation, but I wouldn't want to always workout like that. During the three days of cardio I feel like I should do more weights and vice versa. I haven't been eating right, so it's hard to say if it's effective for losing weight or toning up. During this rotation and last months I've felt really tired too. And always hungry.

Alleycat, you'll get back on track! I really like Kelly Coffey-Meyers. It's a nice change of pace from Cathe and the workouts are fun.

Valerie, I love your descriptions of your ski outings too!

Last night and this morning I just wasn't feeling well. I'm fighting off this cold and had a slight fever this morning. So, I figured it'd be best not to workout and try to get better. So, nothing for me today. I'm due to start weights tomorrow, still not sure if I'm going to do Slow and Heavy or something else.

I dusted my shoes off today -- did PLB (standing work only) and Basic Step. Feeling MUCH better today :) Lots of water, a couple protein shakes (and my only chocolate was in the form of dark chocolate covered raisins instead of a peanut butter cup ;)).

Great job, Allison! I meant to add to my earlier post that 100 walking lunges would do me in for a week -- you should be proud!

Did CTX STep & Intervals and Core Max #1 this morning! That's four in a row -- I'm pumped. DH didn't sleep well last night so he didn't get up but I was motivated!! Our TV started acting up last night and continued this morning. Flickering adds a new twist to working out!!! Guess we'll be buying a new TV tonight.....

Hi Stacy! Kind of quiet here today! I did kicboxing today, too, but I did Cathe's new one from her 4 day split series. I also did the legs and shoulder workouts. I tried to do the core workout, but my son spilling chocolate milk all over the floor kind of interrupted my momentum! Tomorrow is biceps and triceps and maybe some cardio.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

congrats on the size 6 charisse. the only way I'll ever see a "6" on anything is if I cut off my toes! :p

Joanne, "virginia is for lovers" is too funny!!! what comes out of the mouths of kids...

Sounds like everyone is having a great workout week!. I did cardio, treadmill & elliptical one day, and KPC the next. One day we worked on a tree we cut down, cutting it up and hauling it to our log splitting area. definitely an upper body workout! Today, nothing so far but there were some scheduling upsets.

all the good comments about GS made me request it for my birthday. chances are good it will show up!Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi, all! CTX is getting lots of use this week :)

I did a 9 mile walk this morning (Charisse, today it was Kelly Drive).

I've been reading all the threads and the blog about Cathe's STS. Something tells me I'm going to cave. It looks really awesome (and I like the new eye candy too ;)). I'm a sucker, I know.

Happy to be *starting* this week on the right track. Thanks for the encouragement earlier in the week :)

Valerie -- I think you'll really enjoy the GS workouts. Happy birthday!!

Joanne -- What a drag about the chocolate milk! I can SO see that happening here!! At least it was towards the end of your workouts.

Allison -- 9 miles! That's awesome -- you must feel just great! DH ran 9 on the treadmill this morning. He said he's been inspired by the progress I've been making.

I did Drillmax on Saturday. First time through but I really liked it. I think I'll like it even more as I get used to it. Saturday completed six days in a row for me! I don't think I've ever done that before and I know I've never done it and felt as good as I feel! Not worn out, just ready to move into the next week. Chalk it up to the rotation but I really think there's a benefit to having something proscribed that I can tweak a bit.

I saw on Cathe's website that the price on STS will increase on March 10th. So......it's time to make a decision. DH suggested that I get that for my birthday & Mother's Day. I think I'm going to take him up on it! I have a feeling that I'd just end up buying them anyway (and paying a lot more for them). Anyone else gonna cave? Allison??
