I just stumbled on an interesting website http://www.drugdigest.org, and while I was there I researched several supplements that DH and I take, and garlic was one of them.

I noticed it said garlic oil used topically will keep biting insects away. DH and I eat two cloves of garlic (raw, finely chopped) every day and have done so for years. We've also noticed if we are outside near sunset when the mosquitos come out in droves, our neighbors are getting eaten alive however with us the mosquitos will land but will not bite.

I've read in the past that certain B vitamins will help keep mosquitos from biting, but now I'm wondering if it might be the garlic. I know some of you take garlic supplements, eat lots of cooked garlic and/or eat it raw like we do. What has been your mosquito experience?

I eat a lot of garlic....if there is a mosquito, it will find me.
I found a new non-deet spray that I tried last summer and it worked pretty well..
it is called Bite Blocker...essential oil based in a soy oil blend.
I break out easily and so far, no problems with this stuff.

I eat a lot of garlic too, and if there is a skeeter, sand fly, tick, or flea within 10 miles, they come to visit me.

I don't eat a lot of garlic raw, however.

Dabbing myself with garlic oil somehow doesn't appeal.
