I started hitting the treadmill again several months ago after a long absence. :o I have been wearing a regular bra, but really need something with more support now that I have worked up to a pretty good jog. I am a fairly large-chested C, sometime D, cup.

Anyone have any recommendations? A search turned up nothing since apparently "bra" is not a long enough search term.

TIA.

There was this thread recently that might help you:

I'm a large-chested girl and like Title 9 and also one bra from Road Runner Sports.

Hope this helps,
Kathy

www.Activasports.com is the sister company to www.roadrunnersports.com and has (sometimes) different bras. there is some overlap in products they carry. both good mail order places. I'm a D and can't wear metal hooks so need pullover styles or (maybe) zippers. Roadrunner used to have a fantastic, inexpensive pullover style bra but it's been replaced by a lesser product. not awful but nowhere near as good as the previous. I have some that are 15 years old and are still superior to brand new bras.

Just an FYI, to search a three letter word use the word and then an * and it will search for anything with that word (and bras, brazier, brass etc) but it gets you closer. I would have directed you to the same thread though. :)

Ooh, good tip, Robyn. I didn't know that, being search-challenged as well as photo-challenged. :D Thanks.

Manetta - Good luck with your bra search. I hope you find something nice and comfy. I see women running without support and can't imagine. It's uncomfortable for me to run with all that bouncing around. (Not that I have THAT much to bounce. :o )

Valerie, thanks for posting those sites. I will check them out. Too bad that Roadrunner doesn't make the bras you have had for 15 years. That is quite an endorsement! :)

Robyn, thanks for the search tip!

TKay, thanks for wishing me good luck. I hate bra shopping as much as swimsuit shopping. :o

Valerie, if you are talking about the RRS sportek C/D pullover bra, it's back! I bought one a couple weeks ago. I haven't worn it yet, as I mostly bought it because I was worried they would discontinue it again. Based on the reviews on the site, it's the same one from before. I also can't wear bras with hooks.

That's the one, rrs sportek. .... I bought one of the newer ones maybe a year ago and (unless they changed it again) it was not as good as the old ones. but thanks, I'll go look. I complained to customer service and also made comments on web site because it's disappointing when a great product gets "improved" to the point where it's not great anymore. If the old one is back I'll buy a few.

ktg0930, I think you're right. It looks like it's back. :) :) I will need to see for myself but the reviews sound like it's the same bra.
I'm not sure why this bra works so well. I think it has a high percentage of elastic in the fabric and the inner stretchy liner has stretchy fabric that is cup shaped, not flat. It worked better for me than any other bra and had no nasty hooks to rub, irritate or otherwise aggravate. the chest band stayed snug and in place. more later.

Valerie, that's what I thought from the reviews too. I bought one and the outside fabric seems "silkier" than before (which seemed more "cottony"), but it looks about the same. I haven't tried it yet, and I am hoping that it is the same. I like my old RRS bras more than the Title 9 frog bras that I bought in replacement. The frog bras aren't bad, they just aren't quite as comfortable.

I have skin reactions and irritation from metal so I've been testing anything that was pullover or zip style. Nothing was as good as the rrs sportek bra although some were "ok". most have not held up, were OK for a couple months but got less supportive after a few times thru the wash. the zip styles seem to unzip or the zippers separate. I don't care if I'm squashed down, i just don't want to bounce. I never tried the frog bra.

Thanks for letting us know this one is available again! DH is ordering some shoes and I will order a few replacement bras ..... while I know I can get them. I wish the colors were better. my old ones are lt blue, medium blue, purple, etc. I don't like white but will make do with black.

Valerie, the color choices are bad, aren't they? Here's a coupon code for 15% off $75 if you need it...RM070510.
