Anyone else watching Lipstick Jungle? Somehow, someway, I am addicted. :D
What is Nikko (spelling?) thinking??????
I've really liked Andrew McCarthy from The Breakfast Club days... he's aging well, isn't he?

NBC Pulls the Plug on 'Quarterlife'
By BRIAN STELTER
NBC pulled “Quarterlife,” the made-for-Internet series, on Thursday, after broadcasting only one low-rated episode. The network had intended to run the series on the next five Sunday nights; “Dateline NBC” and reruns of “Law & Order” will replace it. On Wednesday Marshall Herskovitz, a co-creator of the series, said it did not belong on broadcast television because its subject matter, the lives of blog-savvy men and women in their 20s, was too narrow for a network audience. “If it was going to go on TV, it probably should have been on a cable network, and that’s probably where it’s going to end up,” Mr. Herskovitz said at a conference at Harvard. An NBC spokeswoman confirmed that the show would run its course on the Bravo cable channel. “Quarterlife” stirred considerable interest as the first network show born on the Internet. It originally consisted of eight-minute Web episodes, which were then strung together into one-hour episodes for television.

Have you read the book? I had fully intended to watch this show because I liked the book and LOVE LOVE LOVE SATC, but I haven't been able to catch it.
How far along is the series and what have I missed so far?

Oh and Andrew McCarthy is freakin YUMMY. Aging well doesn't even begin to describe it.
Curse blasted men for getting better and better looking.

Loved the book and the show! I think they did the casting really well and also YUM to Andrew!
I think this was the third or fourth show? I think it would be fairly easy to catch up, though. I've been DVRing them to watch b/c I'm not sure DH would enjoy!

I think you're right -- it was the third or fourth show. I don't have DVR (YET!) so I'm forced to watch while the show airs! I don't think it would be hard to catch up.
I'm so getting the book -- thanks, I forgot it was based on a book!
I was/am a die-hard SATC fan, too. I miss those Sunday nights (but have the DVD's so can revisit whenever i need a pick-me-up!)
I should have been more clear in my Andrew McCarthy comment -- aging well is the equivalent of HOT!

Is this a good show? I thought I heard the first episode was boring so I haven't been watching.
Maybe I should try to catch the show again?

I've only seen one episode (last week) and thought it was OK. Doesn't have the same vibe or edginess that SATC did. I realize it's on network TV, and I'm not even interested or expecting se% scenes like SATC. But, I dunno, something was kind of missing. One episode isn't probably enough for me to decide either way.

I'm in no-DVR land too. I'm glad I haven't missed too much of it. When I watch the 1st season of SATC I can't help but think how rough it was compared to how much I grew with and loved them by season 6.
I bet I'll feel the same way about Lipstick in a couple of seasons.
I cried when SATC ended. I'm SO EXCITED !!!! for the movie - the posters are already in theatres. May!

I started with Cashmere Mafia, so was totally and completely underwhelmed by Lipstick Jungle. That is not to say I won't watch it...
Neither show is anything like SATC in my opinion, maybe LJ for its undertone of whininess if you really want to search for similarities. I still download LJ, because I need something to fill the trashy chick show void in my life:D

I think I saw it spelled Neko. I think. So they show her getting it back on w/her boy toy...this is interesting. Did you get the impression it's because she thinks her husband is having an affair so therefore it's justified to keep going on with hers???
My DH doesn't like Brooke's hair. it's so funny bc he says it every show.

I don't think that she believes her husband is having an affair. Unless you would call self absorption having an affair with yourself. His main focus is work and he almost treats her like an accessory (like failing to notice the writing on her thigh...)
That is my take on it...
I haven't seen the most recent episode, though.
