Good morning everyone! I haven't seen a thread for a couple of weeks and thought that I'd check in to see how we are coming along. :D
Well, this morning I was telling my dh that the only thing missing from doing the Tibetan Rites is the lint from my underwear from doing the 4th rite and my double chin!!!! :D OMG!!!!! I have finally seen the difference! It's been slow and steady for sure. I've also noticed my arm and leg muscles are much tighter because of pushing my own weight. One of my first complaints of the season is how sore I get after doing yard work. I am happy to say that this week I've shoveled dirt, worked with a pick to remove sod, lifted pots, and spent alot of time using the lopers to limb up trees. I haven't been sore! :D
We also have been walking a 5-6k walk every week. Yoga class was last night, I love that class. Field hockey is scheduled and there is still lots of pruning yet to do. I'm pretty happy with how things are progressing.
How are you doing with your workouts? Are you seeing any differences?

Thanks for starting the thread! Last week was one of the most horrible weeks I've ever had trying to work out!!!!! I was NOT a happy camper. This week should be better by default. I did a workout with weights Sunday morning. I've done some Pilates leg lifts each day. I'm beginning to wimp out on the Tibetan Rites though. I finally realized I really dreaded knowing I still had to do them...and have ABSOLUTELY NOT SEEN any differences. My upper arms may be slightly improved, but I think that's wishful thinking. I'm doing the first 3 rites just trying to do the parts I liked. And, heck, I NEVER want to work up to those 21 spins without feeling ill!!! :o This week consists of my two mid-terms, a trip next week, horrible-disgusting-so-much-studying Comps coming up in 3 weeks...and I just couldn't consider doing something I didn't enjoy coupled with not seeing any obvious results. Maybe I'll start back in May! Or maybe I'll decide to sneak back in the 4th and 5th ones at some point.

I had to work today, but yesterday I got in 30 minutes on the bike, along with full-body weights. Sunday was 40 min on the elliptical with ab work.
I'll "see" you all tomorrow!

It is hard to keep up anything that makes us uncomfortable. I see it in myself and my dh. He wimps out after doing 3 reps once a week. I know that it's difficult. I just do 5 and rest and then 4 and rest and then 5 and rest, whatever, I just do it till it's done. Maybe this isn't for you and that's ok but if you let everything slide when it becomes difficult then nothing will work. So, retraining is working for me.
If you see a slight improvement then the rest will follow. You just have to beat this slowly and consistantly. I hope that you don't give up.
And ... I had wishfull thinking to and at some moment realized that it was a reality!

Great job on the workouts everyone! Sorry to hear you had a bad week last week, Melanie. :( Hope things are looking up.
I've been getting in at least 3 TM sessions a week, with occasional yoga and/or weights thrown in. So far I am up to 16 reps on the Tibetan Rites, and I plan to keep going.
I am planning to take a few weeks off from posting on the BB, because life is getting a little more hectic than usual, and I need to put my attention elsewhere. I still plan to exercise, and I won't be gone long, but I didn't want you to think I wasn't posting because I was SLACKING!! ;)
Keep up the good work! :)

Yippeee...a trip to the gym was in the cards tonight! I got to play on the super-dooper fancy cycling machine tonight. I did a lovely trail that was more than 7 miles with two main inclines. I will definitely say that looking up and seeing an incline of 25% was quite the doozy. Most of the inclines go up to about 8-10% most of the time. (I like the negatives when the trail goes downward. Too bad the machine won't let you coast!!! :o ) I have such a good time on that machine.
I did the first three Rites and a bunch of Pilates leg work. I also have started adding in "bicycles" - I'm sure there's an official term for those things. It's the exercise where you lie on the floor and alternate elbow to knee repeatedly. I'm up to a count of 40 (40 full ones - not counting left and then right...a combination of left AND right)
I'll catch back up on the last 2 Rites at some point....I just had to quit being so negative about them. I'm fine with the first 3. I really was developing an attitude about all of them together. No time for attitudes right now. I need POSITIVE thinking! :D

I'll close out the week with one last post (unless we have another last-minute poster). I did a cycling class this morning. The gym just began offering an 8:30 class...today, my favorite instructor was scheduled. Fun class.
Anyone else want to post?

Where's everyone hiding these days??? I wasn't exactly hiding, but I was in DC for the most part of the week. I did some major walking each day but finally made it back to the gym last night. I did about 30-35 minutes on the new cycling machine. Tonight, I did a yoga class that just about got the best of me! I can tell I haven't had a chance to work out nearly as much as normal. I plan to rectify that this week...it's SPRING BREAK!! :D :D :D I plan to post often...I sure hope there's someone out there to join me!!!
