I'm surprised there's no thread about it this week. What did you guys think? I was pretty disappointed with all of them.

Yep, me too (disappointed, that is). I was trying to get caught up on some office stuff and so was only half-watching, but no one blew me away. I picked Syesha and Kristy as my bottom two, with Kristy going home. But I think there's a group of them in danger- Syesha, Kristy, Chikezie, Michael, and Ramiele.

l I really liked Syesha's performance, she was my favorite of the night! Still love Brooke, but that was for sure not her best. Also David Cook is really growing on me. :)
I think Ramiele needs to go, i'm just bored to tears with everything she does. Kristy wasn't much better, she is very forgettable although i like her voice when she is singing, then I just seem to forget about her.

My pick for the bottom three are Kristy, Ramiele & Amanda. The only reason I put Amanda in there is that she wasn't great last night and she went first.
I hope that Kristy goes as she wasn't very good.
30 minutes are the show ended DH and I could not remember what song Ramiele sang. Talk about forgettable!
I had to look it up! She sang "In My Life."
Which makes it even more sad because that is one of my favorite Beatles songs.

Actually, she sang In My Life last week....I forget what she sang this week. None of them were particularly good, unfortuntately. I missed the first couple of singers because we were out. Kristy has a nice voice, but doesn't seem to be in the same league as the others. After last night's show, I wouldn't be surprised to see anyone go, except for David A, as he was really good with The Long and Winding Road.
Agreed, this show was booooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnn ggggggggggg. Snoozville. They all were off save Carly. Believe it or not this is the first week I liked her! I think she has a fine voice I just never really saw the magic that all the judges drooled over - but this week I thought she sounded great.
It is hard to say, most of them could qualify for the bottom three.
like Simon said, 1 week too many for the Beatles. Which is too bad, because DH and I really enjoyed last week. With all the Beatles hits were there just not (roughly) 30 good songs to choose from? How can you sing a song from the heart when you only just learned it last Tuesday? Like Sayesha - never heard Yesterday before. How can that be? I was never into the 60's music when I was growing up, still don't (FWIW I was born 1970). But I don't live under a rock, I have heard Yesterday and could easily sing almost every word.
Jason Castro did make me smile when he was singing Michelle. He had this look on his face that was like, "Hey I'm singing in French!" And it sort of worked for him, IMHO :o But I am a fan.
Oh, yeah, I also liked David Cook. I don't think he is boring at all. And David A gave another solid performance but I just wish he would show a little more personality. He seems like he is being the person he was groomed to be instead of himself. (and I don't mean groomed by his stage mom and dad necessarily)

What I enjoyed most was Brooke's post-song interview. That the "whoo" just slipped out, that she moves awkwardly, and that she asked to do last week's song again - she is so funny. I just love her personality. I actually thought her song was good. Things seem so natural for her, she doesn't have to force anything.
And speaking of post-song interviews - Amanda really seemed comfortable this week during hers. She spoke really well and seemed confident. That was nice to see.

Oops! That's right. The Idol website hasn't been updated to reflect what they sang this week.

She sang something more upbeat, but can't remember either... not a good sign for her! She is cute, but forgettable...

Yeah, I'm really interested to see what happens. I'm not a Kristy fan--but since she's the only "country" person I think she has a fan base. I think most people don't vote only on the one performance--viewers form their opinion early and keep voting for the same person unless something really changes.
I was a David A fan early on, but he has really underwhelmed me. While I think his voice is nice and he is a cute goofy teen--I just don't think he is Idol material.
I liked Michael's song and was surprised to see him get so ripped. I agree with mgs that this was the first week that I liked Carly.

I can't believe how many people enjoyed David A's rendition of "The Long and Winding Road." I just feel like he doesn't understand the hurt in that song. Yes, he sang well, but it wasn't convincing to me. I think quite a few would have done better had they picked better songs -- just switched them up.
David - "Here Comes the Sun" (Brooke)
Brooke - "Blackbird" (Carly)
Carly - "The Long And Winding Road" (David)
I thought Syesha was amazing. And dude -- Michael Johns? Why am I just noticing that he's hot?

I agree with what Simon said to him that it was a good thing he wasn't on radio. He is just cute to watch.
Overall, I agree that it wasn't a great show. However, I loved Carly's performance. I don't think I have ever heard that song before but I thought it suited her voice perfectly and it was a nice change to see her sing that style of music.
I also really enjoyed David Archuleta's performance. To me, he was believable.
If it were up to me, Ramiele would go home tonight. She is just completely lacking in stage presence.

Dude, seriously.

I had to look up on youtube to remind myself that Ramiele sang "Should Have Known Better." Very forgettable, indeed.
Simon was right when he said they didn't need to do another Beatles week.
I was disappointed in whoever it was (one of the girls, maybe Kristy?) who said they picked their song because it had a cool title. Come on! Even if that is true, don't tell us -- at least try to pretend the song means something to you.
(...Although, I am thinking it was Kristy and it was obvious she wasn't comfortable singing that song.)
I did enjoy David A & David C's performances, as well as Jason -- but I *heart* him no matter what! :)

Ding dong, the screech is gone!
Amazing that Carly was in the bottom three and Ramiele wasn't.
Mary Kate, I agree; as much as I have admired David A, he didn't do justice to the song, other than singing it in a fairly pleasant voice.

LOL!!! I'm glad the screech is gone, too!

Nurse Ratchet has left the building! :D
I honestly think she's relieved...I don't think she would have been comfortable going on the tour with the rest of the group, that's just not her style! She even told the judges she could sing in a bar in Lafayette and be fine!
Who is surprising me is Ramiele. I honestly think she peaked in Hollywood. That girl has an amazing voice, but she doesn't have the stage presence and I think it's hurting her. Great recording voice though, so she'll probably get a record contract out of it!
David A has a great voice, but it's still not making me jump up and down. Something about that kid just doesn't scream successful recording artist to me!!
Michael also has a great voice, but he's not cutting it on stage either. Bad song choices, and the judges are so hard on him that I think he's just losing his motivation. He even said he 'peaked' in Hollywood Week.
Love, love, love Brooke White. Not a great song choice in my opinion and the dancing seemed forced, but I gotta give her props for stepping out of her comfort zone and doing it! :)
I just don't 'get' Jason's popularity. I thought 'Michelle' sounded like a guy singing in a Karaoke bar.
Carly has a great voice and the song choice was good I felt. Couldn't understand the Bottom 3 thing for her, but I have a feeling the public might look at her like they saw Amanda. Maybe the tattoos and the heavily-tattooed husband they show occasionally is putting the public off, that she's not the wholesome American Idol type they want? I dunno. Glad she's still there!
David Cook is amazing...love his voice and his song choices. But this guy has to get his ego in check. He comes off as a bit smug and arrogant and I think that might hurt him later on. I honestly want him to win, but he has to appeal to the public for that to happen.
