Jewel (and all other Vegas-aholics).

I'm proup to report that this evening, DH and I are off to Vegas for the weekend to celebrate my B-Day. We're eating at a new restaurant at the Alladin, and I'll keep a look out for places to go and things to do for the CL crew.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I'll be curious to hear what you think of the Aladdin -- it seems a little bit more reasonably priced than some of the new places on the Strip. I sure wish I were going this summer -- it just didn't work out, unfortunately. :(

Julia,

What a coincidence, I will be in Vegas on Tues thru Fri. I'm looking forward to getting away for a few days.

We are taking the kids,(there is so much to do w/kids there now) and meeting a bunch of friends up there. My DH also has a Uncle that lives up there and hoping to see him and his family.

Have a nice time w/you DH and "Happy Birthday!"

DH and I stayed at the Aladdin over Memorial Day weekend and we were quite pleased. The room was really beautiful. At check in we asked for a good view – and we got one. From our window we could watch the awesome Bellagio fountains and the eiffel tower was right outside our window. The mall was pretty good and the buffet was fabulous!

We didn’t get a chance to eat at any of the fancy places, though – those buffets were so impressive. The best deal was when we got to the Bellagio buffet at around 3:00 we paid the lunch price, but they let you stay as long as you want, so you can benefit from the extra items for the dinner buffet (at around 4 p.m.). This also happened at Paris when we went to breakfast at 10 a.m., not knowing that at 10:30 (I may be off with the times) it became “brunch” and they increased the price by $15 per person and brought out even more food. Soooo good! I am still working off those extra pounds :O

Enjoy your trip! Happy birthday!

Julia-

DH & I did dinner at the Eiffel Tower restaurant when we were down there in November. We agreed that it was literally the best meal we had ever enjoyed, both in terms of the food & the atmosphere and service. It isn't cheap, but it's worth it if you and your DH have a chance to get over there.

Have fun!!! (I'm pea-green with envy!)

Have fun Julia! Sorry to say it looks like I probably won't be able to make the CL-Addicts weekend in September, due to a little family situation here. I will be a bit more stable after the first of the year! If everyone else still wants to go in September, have a blast! I just don't think that I can make it then. Bring back millions to share with your buddies, we all need new kitchen stuff!! :D

If I win big, which I hopefully will, I will let everyone pick out 1 Penzey's spice (even if it's saffron) :D
