Dried Cherries?

Does anyone know - other than a food dehydrator - a way to 'dehydrate' cherries.........does it work the same way as drying tomatoes? :(

It's my understanding that you can also dehydrate fruits and vegetables in the oven on a very low temperature for many hours. I can't recall the specifics but I believe I have the information in a book if you want me to look it up.
