I understand the concept of needing to let my muscles rest and rebuild. but do I need to wait until ALL soreness is gone? Or just until I can work that muscle again comfortably?
Thanks,
Megan

Are you waiting 48 hours in between each muscle group? That's the general rule.
Light exercise helps break up the lactic acid so it does help with muscle soreness.

Yes, I am...sometimes I am a little sore at that time, though, so I wasn't sure if that was too soon. Then there was a couple of weeks ago when I did too many walking lunges and it took 4 days to be able to go up and down stairs without limping. 48 hrs was reallly out of the question for more leg/butt work that week. :)

The way I've read/understood this is that micro-repair starts right away.
I think if you waited a 3rd day, you may see more progress, but the thoughts seem to be 48 hours is enough.

Too funny... there are special rules for too many walking lunges... ;) 148 hours may be required.....
