Hi! I need MC for Dummies! Being terribly computer incompetent, I'm sure I'm making an easy task very difficult. I'm trying to import recipes from here to MC. I have AOL and so it seems I need to use the "Import Asst" and I can get the recipe from here to the asst, but then I get stuck. Nothing I do seems to work to get that blasted recipe any further. The user manual is getting me nowhere. If anyone has any advice-it would surely be appreciated!
TIA
Deb

I'll try to help. If I understand correctly, you have copied the text here and gone into MC, opened the import assistant and been able to copy the text there. Is that right?

If so, make sure the first line is "@@@@@" followed by a return. The second line should be your title followed by two returns (skipping a blank line) and then your list of ingredients. Following the ingredients you need to skip another line and the directions follow.

When you get that part set right and any other editing of the text, do a right click anywhere in the text box and click on "select all". The import button on the top of the list to the right of the imported text should change from grey to black. You can then click on it and it should fill in the form behind the import box. From there, you can save and move to a new recipe or cllick done and review the recipe before saving.

Try it and let us know if it works for you.

So how do you export a recipe from MC to the BB?

Blue Moose,

To post a recipe from Mastercook to the BB:

Go to the recipe you want to "copy"
Left click on edit. Then left click on "copy recipe"
Then go to BB where you would post and right click
Left click on paste.

That should work.

Good Luck,

Beth

P.S. I love your title and avatar!

Beth Thanks for the tips, I've never figured out how to get the whole recipe moved over all at once. In the past I would move parts of the recipe at a time to get the thing right.
Thanks again! It works..
