Well I recently moved (downsized) and in an effort to conserve space, I through out (gasp!) all my old CLs and have the annuals now. Now I want them back, as I love browsing through them more than the annuals. I have read that some of you have done this at some point as well and have recovered your lost issues. I am looking for 1997 - 2000. Where do I start looking for these?

Please help...thanks!

I believe that a few people have mentioned stocking up on old CLs through eBay.

I've subscribed to CL since 1997, but only started keeping my issues in the middle of last year. Stupid me used to toss 'em out, thinking I was done with them! Then this BB would reference old articles or recipes and I was sunk.

I just picked up all of 1998 and all of 1999, and all the Annuals dating back to 1990 on Ebay! Great prices, books and mags are in great condition, and most importantly it kept me from having to deal with Oxmoor House! :p

Jewel...from your experience, do people post a years worth at a time or is it usually piecemeal? If it's piecemeal, should I just buy them as they come in and fill in the gaps? Thanks!

I started subscribing in 1997 and have kept ALL of my old issues. I have them stored in magazine boxes, so they are not all wrinkled and stuff. Also, I have not written in them at all.

I could sell you my old issues. E-mail me privately if you are interested.

I also bought a bunch of back issues on Ebay. I found it was a far better deal to purchase a bunch at one time rather than issue by issue, unless I really wanted a particular issue bad enough to pay a little extra. Prices varied from seller to seller, but I think I paid no more than $5-10 for a whole year's worth.

I too have purchased the Annual Indexes for the last few years. Because of this, I was going to put my issues of Cooking Light in an upcoming garage sale. I plan to sell them for $10 per calendar year. I have years 1995 - 2000. All issues are totally intact (no missing pages). There are a few notations here & there pertaining to recipes I have tried. I do need to sell them in complete years (not as single issues). If anyone would like to e-mail me privately, I would be happy to discuss selling them. I would mail the magazines MEDIA RATE to cut postage costs, with the buyer paying for postage. Let me know if you are interested. I (Louise) can be reached at rockynorth@coslink.net.

I also have the last 5-7 years of CL, but since I live on a boat, I really need to get rid of them because of the lack of space. I've been thinking about purchasing the Annuals, but someone on here said that with the Annuals they really miss the pictures, so I'm assuming the Annuals are just text of the recipes without pics. I would really miss the pictures as well, so I was thinking about cutting out the pictures of the recipes I like, and putting them between the appropriate pages in the Annual. Has anyone done that? Is that a crazy idea?

You can order back issues by calling customer service at 1-800-357-4466. They also sell binders to keep them neat for better storage; that number is 1-800-522-9477. Hope that helps. :)
