In the previous posts about the salmon and grits, someone asked about Lowcountry cooking. Here is a link to info about the "Charleston Receipts" cookbooks which probably is the definitive source on lowcountry cuisine. There also is a 1993 version about lowcountry entertaining. I doubt you will find too many low fat recipes in here, but, it's a fun cookbook nonetheless: http://www.gritlit.com/BooksA-C/cj203.html

CL had an article sometime in the past 7 or 8 months (sorry I couldn't narrow it down more than that) on the lowcountry along with some recipes. I will look for it in the next couple days when I get a chance. I didn't try any of the recipes myself though!

The "Low Country Cooking" article was in the April 1999 issue. Recipes include: Frogmore Stew, Crab Hoppin' John, Chicken Country Captain, Awendaw, Shrimp Pilau, Lemonade, and Apple Chutney. (Photographic memory, you ask? Nope, I just looked it up in the CL Annual Recipes 2000 cookbook.)
