Grey's Anatomy - New Season and a little rant!

I'm probably just being a little sensitive, bu I was almost uncomfortable last night watching this episode.

I have a heart condition that meant a few years ago I spent a lot of time in the hospital being poked and prodded. I remember having residents/interns come in with my doctor and they would almost salivate from their desire to find out what was wrong with me. Ughh, this episode was not a welcoming reminder of how I felt during those moments.

I didn't care for it either. What is with a contest? Makes you afraid to go to the hospital. And did I miss an episode - when did George and Lexie get together?I thought his wife was pregnant.

George and Lexie are just roommates. He and Callie were talking about a baby - mostly Callie - but I don't recall her actually getting pregnant. But with this darned writers' strike, I could have forgotten a lot of things! :)

I'm definitely not liking it as much as I did the first season or two, but I know I'll still watch until I really can't stand it. Or until Izzy - who I used to like - drives me away.

I have to say that I love Mark's character. A bad boy - I just can't resist a bad boy. And then you have scenes with him and Derek - I could live on the eye candy alone. ;)

Thanks for clearing up the George and Lexie question, I couldn't remember if they had hooked up on the last episode. Also, I'm pretty sure Callie only thought she was pregnant at one time.

Does Mark (real name unknown) look like he has lost weight? Or does he not have as much of a beard this season? Something is different for sure.

I forgot to watch. Guess that is what a writer's strike does to you - makes you forget what was even on prior to it happening. Sounds like I didn't miss too much.

I think I remember that he had or has cancer?

He (the actor who plays mark who's name I can't remember) has/had skin cancer. On his lips I think. So that's probably why he's looking a bit thin- I think he went through treatment recently.


I still like watching Grey's Anatomy but I do feel that the show has lost some of the spark it has had in recent seasons. I'm a romantic - I want Derek and Meredith to get together and STAY together. All the back and forth.... eh. For me, It's getting old. Next week's episode looks promising. I always liked Addison's character. Wonder what happened to Private Practice? Is that one not coming back?

Wikipedia says PP was picked up for a second season, but I can't find anything to confirm that on the PP official website.

I read in TV Guide that Private Practice won't be back until fall, so that's why Addison is doing a guest arc on GA.

Private Practice has the potential to be a blockbuster, but they will have to put it on regularly so we can find it! I am afraid Grey's has jumped the shark, but I hope not. LOST made a comeback, so Grey's can too.

I did not see the episode, but I can definitely relate to what you're saying. When ds #2 was born, they thought he had a twisted bowel. The resident who came in to tell us was SMILING when she said they'd have to operate in the morning. I was just sick. She was practically giddy when she told us everything they'd "get" to do to him. Fortunately for me, dh worked at the hospital at the time and knew the guy in charge of her (the attending?). She got a talking to for her glee.

I can understand how as students, you ARE excited that you get to do a particular procedure or you get to practice something on a live patient. But gosh, keep that from the people who are going through this stuff.
