somehow the task bar ( winXP home edition)on my computer has gotten moved to the top of the screen. I have no idea what happened. it was at the bottom yesterday as usual. DH had trouble getting the system to shut down last night although I don't know exactly what the issue was. so this morning I boot up and the task bar is at the top. and I can't get it to move.
tried to click and drag but nothing. the "help" for moving the taskbar says to click and drag it but it doesn't say anything else and for some reason it's not working. It is NOT locked. What stupid thing am I doing wrong?? I also have an XP book but it doesn't mention moving the bar.

I've had that happen too, and the worst part is selecting the taskbar properly to be able to "click & drag."

I just tried it on my laptop: I left-clicked on the taskbar where there wasn't anything (ie, not where the Start button or any other program shortcuts are). Then I dragged it towards the right, and it popped over to the right side of my screen. There was no visible indication that I'd selected the taskbar, though.

HTH.

Thanks.... I finally got it back to the bottom.... I must have "clicked and dragged" a 100 times . I finally got it to go by compressing it down to where it's just a line on the edge. got it to the side of the screen, and then a few dozen more times and got it to the bottom. and I LOCKED that sucker. It's not like clicking and dragging is difficult ??? but it just would not move. I wish I knew how it got moved to begin with but that will forever be a mystery....
