Hi all!!

I've been MIA the last 2 weeks - chalk it up to baseball/soccer/etc..... I have been exercising - not really regularly but doing ok. I got caught up on the May 3rd thread...

Michelle - Glad to hear things are going ok with your mom. It's so nice that she has friends who can help out with appts and such. It's gotta be a little bit easier knowing that - just a bit. Things tend to tumbleweed, don't they? One thing starts, another, and it just keeps going. Hang in there. I love the idea of you guys being a rescue horse home. What's involved with starting this up?

Valerie - sounds like vacation was great. You're up and running - gardening etc...

Stacy - are you doing the Cathe thing too?

Jack had 2 teeth pulled yesterday so I was off - I'm going with Sam on his field trip to Hershey's Zoo America on Friday. So only 3 days of official school this week. I'm gearing up for our Relay for Life event next weekend. We've raised over $3300 this year - I'm so proud of our students. We walk next Friday at 6pm and I'll stay until Sat 6pm. Then I can collapse!;)

So in the meantime, I'm trying to still do DVD's - Sunday was Cardio kickboxing, yesterday was BSS4 with Pam - today will be Crunch and Burn.

It's so *%#%^&%@ COLD and RAINY out - I am sick of this weather!!! Luckily Friday looks sunny and warm for our field trip. Bring on the sun and warmth!:)

Hi, Charisse!! I was MIA last week, too. Recovering from a sinus infection...only two workouts last week -- yuck! Thankfully, I'm feeling better now. I have a lot of catch-up to do!! Today was 4DS HIS. Tomorrow will be 4DS Kickbox. I plan on working with 4DS for the next few weeks. I bought 20 lb dumbells and used them for the first time this morning. I think I'll feel it tomorrow!

It's HOT here -- in the 90's! I'm not quite ready for it. Love that it's not cold but didn't really want it this warm. Picky, huh??

Lots of stuff going on over the next couple of weeks. I'm volunteering at DS's field day (his favorite day of school!) this Friday. The kids swim and play games ALL DAY LONG. Should be fun! Then we're counting down until school's out -- yeah!!

Hope everyone's doing well!

Just a quick post -- yesterday was 4DS Kickbox. Felt a little sore from the new weights -- in a good way! Today is a day off. We have dentist appts this afternoon then DS's tennis lesson. Going to be a busy day!!

I've been somewhat MIA also. we are starting a kitchen remodel... the process eats time. we picked out granite yesterday after multiple trips( seems like a hundred). we have a small kitchen with an island. I'm replacing the island first & have that finalized. will be done in about 4 weeks and then we get the countertops.

I've been working out but not as much as needed. am going back into more serious and longer workouts. We've also been plagued with crummy wet cold weather with the exception of 2 days when it soared to 90 degrees and was too blasted hot to do anything. so I can sympathize and agree with both of you two! I find best weight control is a day or two a week of a long not too difficult hike or ski, something where I go for 4+ hours at a moderate heart rate. but the weather has been so poopy that we've missed week after week and the holiday weekend is usually unpleasant and crowded so no relief there.
Anyway, didn't work out yet today cause had appts with two contractors but will be getting at it shortly. probably a run and then an Cathe upper boddy something.

Hee hee...:D

The remodel sounds great Valerie. Are you getting new cabinets too? I envy you having the time to do 4+ hour hikes - Very cool. Do you have the new Cathe workouts like Stacy?

Stacy - When are you guys done with school? Our last day is June 6th - WE CAN'T WAIT! Have fun tomorrow at Field Day - I'll be on our field trip to the zoo - Luckily it's supposed to be sunny and 68!!!

No workout yesterday - I took a break. Today I did Stepboxing - worked my patootie off!;) Tomorrow is a goodbye party after school for a staff member - Sat I hope to squeeze in a workout before we head to the Pocono's for the holiday weekend. Pig Roast on Sunday for our friend who just returned from a year in Iraq. We can't wait to see him.

If I don't check back in - everyone have a wonderful holiday!!:)

I'm still sitting here, so I'll respond now. Cabinets are good... oak cabinets that I am fine with. One is getting a turntable added. the island itself is a reincarnation of the old one, better shape, better storage, and it will be strong enough to handle a granite top. it will have two outlets and an entertainment sink. we'll likely keep all appliances. none are old. will replace the sinks faucets with undermounts and pull out faucets. get the hardwood floor refinished. so limited facelift type remodel. needs updating. then go from there when we see how things look.

Hope every one has a great holiday weekend!

Valerie -- We're planning on doing our kitchen, too. We just had the floors replaced in March. The work started in December but the original installer went out of business. It took three more months to get everything straightened out and find someone else to finish the work. After all that, I've been a little reluctant to start on the kitchen. What color granite did you choose? I haven't started to look yet but I understand it's overwhelming. It's nice to know someone else who has oak cabinents and likes them. Me, too! Mine are a medium oak and I like the wood as well as the color. I'm just planning on having the refinished with new pulls added. I'm replacing my sink and my cook top, too. I also want to have our doors and trim painted throughout the house but I have a feeling I'll reach my spending limit before then!

Charisse -- School's out for us on June 4th with release that day at noon. We can't wait!! The kids are restless and I think the teachers are ready for summer, too. Field day was a blast! The kids had so much fun. They got to swim for ninety minutes then play all kinds of games. It's DS's favorite school day of the year! :D They start it all of with class cheers and it's so loud!!! Sunny and 68 sounds wonderful! It's still hot here -- supposed to be 92 today! Most of morning was cloudy with a nice breeze so it was nice being outside....now, it's just hot. Enjoy the zoo! That sounds like a lot of fun, too.

I've had lots of exercise today! I did 4DS low impact step, walked back & forth to school twice, and helped with the "triathalon" (relay race with one leg riding tricycles!). DS still wants to go play tennis! Whew.

It will be a busy weekend but I'm really looking forward to it. Enjoy, everyone!!!
