Hey all!
Weekend was great - lots of good food! I did Super Body Sculpting (FIRM) on Saturday - nothing Sunday. Lots of lying around:D Yesterday I did Time Crunch - I"m sooo bloated and crampy - yuck!! Trying to get past that.
We're headed up to my mom's today for a short visit. Be back tomorrow. DS2 has been selected for All Stars:) so practice starts tomorrow eve - games will be in mid July. This is the first time for us so the practices in the summer will be unusual.
Have a good couple of days ladies - see you all tomorrow or Thursday!!

Hi, there!
I did Step Jam on Saturday and Slow & Heavy Bis & Tris on Sunday. I can't believe how sore my triceps are!!! This one really got me. I didn't have any major soreness with the back/chest or the leg workouts. My arms were so sore it was tough to dice an onion last night!!!! This morning I did LIC timesaver cardio blast + abs. Tomorrow is Pyramid Upper Body but I'm not sure my arms are going to be up for it!
Joanne - I'm still getting used to the orthotics. It's getting better but I'm sure glad when I can take my shoes off! The BodyMax2 upper body premix twice does sound a bit intimidating! I find that some of these rotation really do encourage me to stretch a bit....and do some things that I wouldn't do on my own. You're doing the summer rotation from Fitness Freak, right? I think I may do that one next....
Charisse - That's great that DS2 has made the All-Stars! Hope you all enjoy the extra games. DS finishes basketball tonight since we'll be out of town for the last game. Enjoy your visit with your mom!

Charisse, congrats on DS making the all-star team! Have fun with your mom!
Stacy, are you following a Cathe rotation this month? Yes, I'm doing the summer rotation. I did substitute Amy Bento's In the Ring for the 4DS kickbox/boot camp premix today, though. Fun workout. Tomorrow is Step, Jump, Pump. I'm doing pretty good with my eating, so I've actually lost a couple pounds on this rotation. Just have to keep it up.
Have a great day all!!

Hi all, checking in here! We did two not hard hikes this weekend. still way too much snow to get anywhere without hassle. the snow melts out from underneath over rocks and streams and trees, and collapses as conditions warm so it's tricky walking. DH fell thru a couple times but I lucked out. Still, it gets old quickly. We were eating lunch saturday after giving up on a steep snow slope when we heard a loud thundering sound that was coming closer. then we heard rocks and branches snapping but never could see if it was a snow slide or rockfall. we actually felt ( not sure what it's called) a percussion wave. we were happy we hadn't continued up that slope. We couldn't see where it came from or went to, but it was too close for comfort.
I took Monday off and went to yoga this morning with every intent on doing something this afternoon, although it's already 2;30 and I just got home from errands etc. We are going on another short vacation this weekend into early next week so again, I won't be around regularly. Sounds like everyone is sticking to program though!
Stacy, I wear some super feet inserts in my shoes ( podiatrist recommended) and they helped my foot issues although they took a while to get used to. So hang in there. Foot trouble can really undermine an exercise program.
Joanne, congrats on the weight loss! Why is it so HARD??
charisse, have a fun visit with Mom!

Valerie -- That is scary!!!!! I'm so glad that it didn't turn into something more serious! That kind of thing is certainly a reminder to always respect Mother Nature! Thanks for the words about the inserts. DH has custom orthotics ($$) and he said that his never hurt -- they felt odd, but they never hurt. He thinks I should go back to the dr right away but I'm trying to give it a little time. I'll have to admit that they were better today so maybe that will continue. I can't help but think that he was able to get used to his sooner since they were custom made for his foot. Enjoy your mini vacation!
Joanne -- I'm doing Cathe's June rotation. Funny you mention Amy's In the Ring. I was going to ask if anyone had this one! I've never tried any of Amy's workouts. Great job on the weight loss! It always a stuggle for me and I can't seem to get my eating in order lately.
Yesterday I did Pyramid Upper Body. I enjoyed it -- moved quickly and before I knew it, I was done. Nothing this morning -- I didn't get up. :(
Oh, well. Tomorrow will be Low Max then off on vacation for a week! I won't get any DVD workouts in but hope to do a fair amount of walking. I don't think I'll be able to check in so everyone have a great weekend and a super next week!

Hey guys! Back from our visit. It's really nice that my parents are less than 2 hours away.
Wow Valerie - that is scary! I love to hear about your hiking adventures:)
Hey those of you with feet problems - I thought I was the only one... after/during exercising I sometimes loose the feeling in the top part of my feet/toes - has this happened to you guys? It always comes back when I'm done and is not painful. I also have a bump and I believe a plantars wart on the bottom of my right big toe(where it creases/folds) This is also without feeling a lot of times. I guess I should make an appt with a podiatrist... I just have issues b/c I had warts burned off my feet in college and it was not a great experience.:(
Anyway today I did BSS3 with Stephanie - cardio and weights. I really need to get back on track - I'm finding now that I'm home during the day..... easier to snack.... and I'm not up and down the stairs like I am at school... Gotta watch myself!!!
Stacy - Your workouts sound amazing. Did you say you do this at 5:30am? Where are you going on vacation?
Joanne - Great job on losing a couple of pounds!! Are you guys anywhere near the flooding? Such sad news. My family is from Iowa and I can't believe what I see on tv.
Have a great Thursday everyone!!

Charisse, no, I haven't had the numbness feeling in my feet. Mine are more achy, mostly my big toe all the way down.
No, thankfully, we're not near the flooding. It's just so sad, though. I just can't imagine losing everything like that.
Stacy, if you like Cathe, you'd probably like Amy's workouts. Her Slo-Mo series is really good and her hi/lo is really fun. Have a wonderful vacation!!
Valerie, that is scary! Glad it turned out OK in the end. Hope you have a nice vacation too!
Today was Tracey's Glute Camp and and 30 minute itread on the treadmill during lunch. It was supposed to be a rest day on the rotation, but I took two days off this weekend. Tomorrow is Muscle Max upper body.
Have safe trips!

Sadly,I'm in the going-to-need-foot-surgery someday group. Bad genetics. my family has bunions beyond bunions. grandmother, mother, all her sisters, my sister. don't know about my brother. my first metatarsal is a little large on my left foot but not so that I can't buy the same size shoes I've always worn. the right is better but eventually I may need surgery. I've had trouble with a bone spur further up the toe. you really can't be sure.
I've put a lot of mileage on my feet and usually they work OK. My mother refused to get surgery and her bunions are so big and distorted that they are now the "front" of her foot with all her toes pushed off to the side. her feet look more like flippers than feet, they hurt, and are next to impossible to walk on. Now they're so far gone no one would touch them, but when they were "on the way" she refused to even have a surgeon look at them.:confused: Makes no sense, this was function, not vanity to wear pointy shoes or something. I'm not my mother's daughter in a lot of ways.
Anyway, there are some toe straining moves I don't do in yoga, at least not with my left foot, and I block my feet when doing pushups so I don't stress the joint more than it has to be. I try not to do things that make the joint hurt.
If I tie my shoes too tight across the top of my foot it goes numb so I go looser across the instep and keep them tighter at the ankle. Had plantar warts two times. had them burned off when I was in high school... boy, is THAT ever an unforgettable experience! Then a repeat episode a couple years ago, in the same spot no less. this time we froze it (DH brought home some liq nitrogen) but I'm not sure that was less painful. had to freeze it quite a few times before it went away whereas cauterizing it was just once. I'm not sure if there are other methods but I'd try them before freezing again. It probably depends some on whether the wart is in a sensitive area. mine was.

Charisse - I'd make an appointment with a podiatrist. Aside from a high arch, my other issue is morton's neuroma. My dr sent me some information after my appointment (nice touch, I thought). No idea if this is your issue as well but in a nutshell, it's scarring around a nerve. I'm paraphrasing from the info.........There's fluid present and the more fluid, the more scar, the more pain. Anything that compresses your toes together can cause a neuroma. Commonly, it's a combination of faulty biomechanics coupled with improper shoe gear or repetitive stress activities. People with other foot deformities such as bunions (the bump on your toe?) and hammertoes are at higher risk for neuromas. Neuromas usually progress from a minor irritation to a big pain in the foot.
Symptoms usually start with an annoying "bunched up sock" feeling in the ball of your foot. This is a much better description that I had -- I just kept saying that I felt like there was a "pad" that shouldn't be there. Taking off your shoes can alleviate the early symptoms but somewhere along the way, the pain stays. It progresses to numbness (what you have?), burning and pain in the ball of the foot which radiates to your toes. This can occur in between the 3rd & 4th toes, most commonly, but also between the 2nd & 3rd toes (this was me) especially in those patients with other issues like bunions. I don't know if any of this fits your situation well enough but I thought I'd pass it on.
Don't be afaid of the podiatrist but definatley look for the right one -- ours is fabulous. She took one look at my feet and knew exactly what the issues were. Our primary care physician recommended her in part because she's a runner and he knows that DH is, too. It's so important to work with someone who understands that physical fitness isn't an option; it's essential for us. She will always work with us to help us keep exercising.
I hear you about unpleasant wart experiences! When I was a child, I had thirteen warts around my fingertips plus a huge on the edge of my left hand. We burned them, put brown acid on them, poked them with toothpicks, you name it. They finally went away but not willingly. We had similar issues with DS -- not on his fingertips, thank goodness, but one on his hand and a few around his ankles. Some of them were extremely difficult to get rid of. Sorry this is so long but I thought it might help!

Thanks guys!! I think I will check with a podiatrist... I have what looks/feels like scarring on the underside of my big toe (and a dot that looks to be a wart??) Who knows - anyway thanks for verifying that I shouldn't "drag my feet"... :D
I did Ultimate Fat Burning Cardio (FIRM) - light weight work sculpting plus cardio. I need to get out to the garden - lots of cleaning up/weeding to do. The weather is beautiful (cool nights) but not pool weather as we don't have a heater. The water is COLD!!!
Sam has a scrimmage tonight then DH is taking the boys to a family party in Jersey. I have a girls day on Sunday - 4 of us are going out for brunch, shopping, dinner and then go see Mama Mia:) I've seen it before it and it's such a great musical. Looking forward to the weekend!!
Happy Friday everyone!!!:)
