Please help! I can't find my July issue and I can't find this recipie posted. Can someone please post if?

Strawberry-Buttermilk Gelato

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 cups sugar
2 cups water
5 cups quartered strawberries (about 4 pints)
2 cups low-fat buttermilk

1. Combine sugar and water in a large saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Pour into a large bowl; cool completely.

2. Place strawberries in a blender, and process until smooth. Add strawberry puree and buttermilk to sugar syrup; stir to combine.

3. Pour the strawberry mixture into the freezer can of an ice-cream freezer, and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. Yield: 8 cups (serving size: 1/2 cup).

I made this last week and, at first, thought the buttermilk flavor was a bit too "sour" (not sure that's the right word, but it's just not as smooth as regular milk). After sitting in the freezer for a day, DH and I can't get enough of it! Yum. We typically try to avoid desserts, but keep justifying this knowing that it's an extra fruit serving :-)
