Ok it’s Monday and I’m looking at a crazy week. Today is meeting with the therapist to try and help me lose my self-imposed ‘Loser Girl’ label:(. Tomorrow is my stylist – I want a cut and highlights and low lights and this will be the first time I’ve had her do it:rolleyes:. Then if the mares are confirmed to be bred by ultrasound, we’re off to ID to rescue them. Yikes.
Well Sunday I did Ripped 1000. It went well, but then again I was a wimp and did low weights and no step but hey my legs are still working today (sort of). Not sure what I’m going to do today, exercise-wise. So we’ll see what comes of it, definitely a blended workout of some kind.
Well have a great Monday and hope your week is looking better than my mine.

You are totally cool Michelle:) No loser girl here!
Fingers crossed for pregnant mares!!! Lucy gets a brother or sister!!!:)
I took off on Saturday as I figured I would SWEATING my rear off at Sam's game!!! They won! Woo hoo. Tomorrow night is theoretically the last game!~
Sunday I did Total Body Time Crunch and today I did Cathe's Low Impact Step. My muscles were sore from yesterday so I thought I'd just do pure cardio today.
My week looks good - we're headed to the movies this afternoon, tomorrow is Dick's for new shoes for all and then Sam's game.... sometime this week I hope to start painting the computer room:) and then get corn from the farmers market and freeze it. Both are full day jobs so I need to organize myself!!!:D

Well they messed up movie times yesterday so we didn't get to see what we wanted - ended up going to Borders instead;) I'm on a major reading kick!! I got 4 books from the library yesteday am and 2 more from Borders.:D
This morning I did the cardio from Cardio Overdrive and the upper body and ab sections from Super Body Sculpt. Not a bad mix if I say so myself!!:D I still have those 3 extra pounds from NYC that I can't get rid of.. Once school starts the snacking will be limited and I'll be up and down steps all day long - ONLY 4 more weeks! Ack.
The heat is supposed to break tonight!! Sam's last game is this evening and then baseball is over :) He's ready for it to end too.

Wow! The summer is flying by! We had a great weekend. A long walk in the morning and a really nice dinner out then some live music. Sunday was a slow day for me -- I just don't do well when I've been up late the night before!
Charisse -- enjoy the last baseball game! It's nice that they won one, too. What kind of books to you like to read? We're going to the library today! I've read four books over the last month -- something I'd like to continue. I usually read mysteries but am trying to mix it up a bit.
Michelle -- busy week for you! Hope your appointments go well - look at this as the start of a transformation - new 'do and no loser girl!
Everyone is doing great with exercise! I'm on a roll, too. Saturday we did a 2hour walk, then I did CTX Step & Intervals (cardio only). Sunday was Push Pull. I took off yesterday and did the upper body weight work from 4DS today. I'm a bit tired today but another week 6/6!! Hope it keeps up!

Good Tuesday morning and I hope that everyone has started a good week. Last night I attempted Cathe’s High Step Circuit and I do say attempted. My knees completely shut down on me. I was pathetic:( and I thought about stopping but I thought I can attempt this or I can sit my behind on the couch. I opted for continuing to move for what it was worth.
Today is a rest day as I have my hair appt so hopefully that will make me feel better. As for the orthopedic doc I can’t get in until September 20-something. Oh well I have the appt and that feels good. The therapist gave me a homework assignment and in a way that feels good, as I’m doing something to fix my problems.:)
Hope everyone else started the week off with a bang and I will ‘see’ you all tomorrow.
Sarah - it sounds like you had a fabulous weeked, fantanstic. I'm a mystery lover too. You got some great workouts in, keep it up!
Charisse - Sorry to hear you missed the movie, perhaps you can go a different day? And wow what a week you have planned, I can't believe with all the exercise and running around and sweating with the kids that those pounds haven't vanished yet. Hope the heat broke and that you find some great bargins on those shoes.

Ahhh best laid plans..... No movie, no Dicks - but I did clean, read and am now baking!:D
Sam won his last game yesterday - woo hoo. 2 and 2. He got a nice Little League certificate and pin - very proud.:)
It's raining today - yea!!! So I did Burn and Shape - 4 for 4 so far:D and I decided it's baking weather. (the corn will wait! - I have to shuck it and DONT want to do it inside!!) I'm making strawberry muffins, blueberry oatmeal muffins, CCC, molasses cookies, peanut butter cookies... all this I can freeze. My MIL is having a family reunion in 3 weeks - I'll have 4 families at my house and need breakfast stuff.
Michelle - good to hear your appt on Monday went well - how's the new hair?? Nothing like a good cut and highlight!! High Step Circuit - could you bring it down? I stay far away from that stuff - I haven't even done IMAX 2 yet (after how many years?!!) b/c of the high step/impact stuff!!! My neighbor who is a PT says that step is one of the worst thing for your knees but he knows I can't quite give that up!!!:)
Stacy - 6 for 6 last week - you go girl!!! It's so nice to have a couples time. I think that is sooo important when you have a family. My mom and dad take the boys for 4-7 days each August (depending on schedules) It's a nice time for Grandparent/child AND a nice time for DH and I as well!!
Happy Wednesday everyone!:)

Hi, all! Charisse, your kitchen sounds like a dangerous place right now! I love to bake but I don't get the chance to do it very often -- that's probably a good thing given my propensity to munch.
Yesterday I did Low Max Intervals 1 - 4 and the core work from LIS. Does anyone else have trouble with core work when you have to lift your hips off the ground? I swear, I just can't do it! Today I did Pyramids Lower Body with the floor work to Legs & Glutes. Tough, very tough. I think I'll feel it tomorrow.
Have a great day, everyone!

Happy Thursday everyone and I hope that the end of the week is treating you well. Tuesday was a rest day and my hair is now quite red. I can’t say anything about it as I picked both the highlight and lowlight colors and I wanted to be more strawberry than blond and I am. Oh well, I’ll get used to it and I needed a change.
Well Wednesday I did Ripped and Chiseled and used the bowflex hamstring curl and leg extensions for the lunges (although I need to up the weight) and then I did ball squats on the wall for the squats. It doesn’t seem to aggravate my knees as much so I’ll stick with it. I upped the weights because I figured I couldn’t be a total wuss. I felt good about that.:)
Can I ask for a suggestion – I want to start doing more slow/heavy weight work, in prep for STS and to mix things up. What would you suggest Cathe-wise?
Tonight – Treadmill, abs and stretching
Well tomorrow is Friday and I hope everyone has a super weekend in store.
Sarah - Good job on the workout and I have trouble with lower ab work on the floor. Lots of times I do the bed/dead bug thing from Fitness Fix for the lower abs. I can really feel it working and it's less frustrating. Hope that you don't have too much DOMS tomorrow.
Charisse - 4 for 4 is super and now it sounds like you are a baking machine, yum the good ol' days when I could eat wheat. Well you enjoy them for me will ya? I like you just can't quite give up step as I enjoy it so much! But as far as high impact etc. I guess until I talk to the ortho I'll keep things to a lower level.

Ahhhh the weather has changed - fresh cool air. I celebrated by washing my upstairs windows and then kept going with cleaning the bathroom, dusting and vacuuming all rooms. My upstairs is lemony fresh!!!:D
Before that I did Stepboxing - I had lots of energy this morning;) Both boys were at sleepovers so I had the house to myself. I think that made a difference!!!
Monday is going to be my painting day I decided. DH will help me get the room ready this weekend and I'll start Monday am. If I get inspired I may do corn tomorrow.
Stacy - I too have a tendency to snack - that's why most of the stuff is in the freezer! Except the CCC - Sam eats those every day so they have to be out :) What kind of exercises do you do when you lift your hips? weight work? medicine ball? leg lifts?
Michelle - I love red hair. I was born with red hair and would love to have it. I did have highlights put in one year but no one in the family really liked it. :o Oh well. The ball squats on the wall sound like a great idea! Good job! Any news on the girls?;)
Tomorrows Friday - we're just hanging and doing some yard work. Dh feels like we haven't done anything all summer - so I'm sure we'll try to make up for it this weekend!:D

Thought I'd best show up although not a lot to report. we did a very decent hike sunday with quite a bit of elevation gain, (around 4500 feet) and about 8 miles round trip. there was some steep snow so we got to slide a few sections on the way back. just a gorgeous day in the mountains. unfortunately I woke up monday with pulled muscle in my left hip/back area. could barely walk, and it was a very unpleasant feeling. just felt like a strain though, not anything that a day or two off wouldn't fix. so did shopping, got the last piece of granite installed, sealed, and started looking for tile for a back splash. I am in love with this stone!. It turned out just gorgeous! also some gardening drudgery, weeding, that needed doing. Wednesday I did 30 on a stationary bike and 30 on the elliptical and today thursday, it's better. so I'll do treadmill and maybe an upper body like GS chest /bicep.
Sounds like EVERYONE is sticking to program and doing great. I will be playing catch-up! michelle... I've never done Cathe's slow and heavy series. it seems too "slow" to me. Same for the Pyramid series. I like GS because the pace is quicker. I have no idea if one works better than the other though. I don't have the GS leg one though, just the two upper body ones.

Happy Friday!!! Looking forward to a quiet weekend -- no special plans. Today I did Pyramids Upper. Good workout!
Valerie -- Hope your hip/back is feeling better! Those kind of aches can be so painful. Sounds like the kitchen project is coming right along. Have fun backsplash shopping!
Charisse - Cleaning.....painting.....are you sure you're okay?? You're wearing me out! Don't you know it's summer? You're supposed to relax, take it slow!
Michelle- Thanks for the Fitness Fix tip. I'm not familiar with it but will check it out! As far as Cathe workouts, I'd get Slow & Heavy. I like it. It is slow but it gives me time to really concentrate on my form and that's a good thing. I really feel it when I use it, too. Cathe seems to be using it quite a bit in her rotations over the last few months. She'll alternate weeks with Slow & Heavy one week and another series the next week then back to Slow & Heavy.
Have great weekends, everyone!

Yeah, we made it to Friday. Last night I got on the treadmill and I used the heart rate control feature. I haven’t done that in quite a while. Well, I set it for 45 minutes at the target heart rate and I think with warm up and cool down it was over 50 minutes but I felt good doing it. :D Then I did the 5th day of Firm 5-day abs and I did Cathe’s Total Body Stretching – Basic Stretch and I almost got into some of the positions but my knees would feel like they would explode if I went much further so I did the best I could. Frustrating as I remember it wasn’t that long ago that I could get into those positions. Grr, thus the appt with the Ortho.
This morning my knees are so unforgiving. If I stay in a position for any length of time my left knee will absolutely lock in that position and I have to limp along until I get it loosened up. Well I was going to do the Fitness Fix workout but I might get in the sauna. I don’t know, play it by ear.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend ahead of them.
Sarah - I'll pull out the slow and heavy and see what I can do. Good job on the Pyramids, what's that like? (all Cathe workouts are tough)
Valerie - Sounds like you have a kitchen to die for. Fun. The hike sounds like it was both fun and a good workout. Perhaps too good, glad you are feeling better. So GS is also good huh? Well I'll take a look at those - but I might skip the lower body stuff until things are better. Thanks for the suggestion.
Charisse - you are such a spitfire! Cleaning, step boxing, painting, the boy's sports...how do you find time to breathe? Good workout and I hope the painting and corn go well. I was born with jet black hair, which turned red around the age of 3 and then I ended up with sandy blond. You could say I tried everything before I ever tried dying my hair:eek:;)

michelle, glad to hear you will be seeing an orthopod. knees should not bother so much! perhaps there's a fixable mechanical defect ( I had a 'surprise" ACL repair a few years ago) or maybe there is some move that's aggravating them. I personally find the treadmill easier on my knees if I do mild elevation, like 2-4%, and I always warm up on a stationary bike for 10 minutes first. it is tougher in a cardiovascular sense til you get used to it so you slow down a bit but the angle is easier for me than flat. I don't know why. If possible, experiment with a slight elevation. Don't do a whole workout like that, just a few sections til you acclimate. plantar fasciitis can be aggravated by suddenly changing the angle....I can verify from experience.
