View Full Version : Ok, all you BB literate people, how are you doing all the cool changes?

I see on the b'day thread many of you have made different fonts with colors with sizes. How are you doing ALL of these? When I change the size (for example), I get a pop up window to put text in, but it is only allowing for one change. How are all you brilliant people doing all at the same time?

I use a rather inefficient way to create effects. The rules for bold, italicization, color, etc. follow a general pattern:

Each effect has a code that surrounds the affected text. For example, to bold text, type a B surrounded by square brackets (these things: "[]")before the text and then /B surrounded by brackets after the text. It's hard to describe this without actually creating the effect!

Likewise, to italize, use an I in the bracket set.

For colors, pull down the color menu to identify the name of the color. Then first type COLOR=colorname in square brackets, then the text you want colored, and then /COLOR in square brackets.

You can see patterns for these and other effects by clicking on the vB Code buttons on the posting form. If you actually know what effects you want to apply before you type the text, then using this vB code section is more intuitive, but personally, I live in afterthought!

Hopefully there is an easier way to create these effects, but this way has worked for me....

have a ball! :p

p.s. to create multiple effects simultaneously, just "double" or "triple" nest the text inside the effect codes.

First, select "Enhanced Mode" under "vB Code" (to the left of all the little formatting buttons and drop-downs). Then click away at all the codes you want, one after another. Next, type in your text, and finally, click "Close All Tags." Bingo!

Or should I say, "Bingo!"

Cheers,
Phoebe

Wait'll I tell the other kids on the block that someone wrote a sonnet to me -- er, I mean a limerick. (Oh well, a poem's a poem, right?):D
