Soy Sauce Ice Cream?

DH said that he heard that soy sauce ice cream is HUGE in japan, and that it's supposed to be amazing. i looked for recipes, and only came up with one for green tea and soy sauce ice cream - from kikkoman's website.

does anyone have a recipe for "regular" soy sauce ice cream? i'm really curious now! has anyone even TRIED soy sauce ice cream?

I've never heard of it. And I have to admit, it made me wrinkle up my nose.

I'm not big on mixing sweet and savory, with some exceptions. It's a big deal that I now like mango relishes/salsas and such!

I did a Google search and here are a couple more links for soy sauce ice cream recipes. I have not tried soy sauce ice cream yet, but I'd be willing to at least sample it. I like green tea ice cream, I've made some at home before, so perhaps the 2 would go well together.

One other thing I saw in the Google search is soy sauce topping for ice cream. That seems interesting too.
