I was reading the thread about lurking and I saw SusanL say that you used to have to click on each reply – so glad they improved that one. For that matter, I am so impressed with all of the improvements on this board [insert applause for Maelynn and crew HERE].
Anyhow, that got me thinking about how I surf this site. I have a pretty good “system” and I thought I would share it. I hope that you guys will share your “systems” as well.
Basically, I pull up the great food board and view the titles. When I see a title I want to read, I right click on it and choose “open in new window.” That way I don’t have to sit and wait for each new thread to open. I just open up to 15 windows at a time, and then I can click between them. When I am finished with a thread I just close the window. It is very efficient because you are reading something else while other threads are downloading. Especially great for those of us with no DSL or ISDN line.
Does that make sense? I would be happy to answer questions if it didn’t – I am sure all of the other gurus can help out too. Just thought I would share my secret…
