This was a decent salmon recipe, but not one we'll repeat. It was fast and easy to prepare; however, we found the sauce to be over-powering (the OJ) and overwhelmed the salmon flavor. We served it with steamed broccoli (and grilled baby red potatoes) and drizzled a little of the sauce on the broccoli, but it just found it overwhelming. Only change was grilling the salmon.
Anyone else tried it with a different take?

Well, if you found it overpowering, I'll probably like it. I consider salmon "fishy" in taste and it suits me just fine to not taste every bite:p

We had this last night for dinner and really liked it. Like Kim, I also grilled the salmon - brushed on some sauce, grilled it and then served it with the reduced sauce. The citrus sauce was "citrusy" but I thought it was more spicy than anything (in a not-hot way). Not sure if that makes sense... it was highly seasoned without the hotness of peppers. My DH gave it a 9.2/10 which is a very high rating for him. DD gave it a 9.0/10. She thought the sauce was alittle spicy for her tastes. This will go on my list of CL favorite salmon recipes. But I definately think it should be BBQed, not baked.

Salmon was good, Kim. I'd get it again.

I tried the Citrus Roasted Salmon for dinner last night and thought it was not so spectacular. I thought the amount of chili powder overwhelmed the flavor of the fish in a negative way. All I could taste was chilipowder and orange. I did make everything according to the directions, to include baking it. Baking it actually turned out fine - the fish itself was flaky and moist. If only it hadn't been ruined by the nasty sauce! Anyway - I am surpirsed that this was listed as one of the editor's favorites for the August issue. There are so many other fabulous recipes in that particular issue that I can't believe this salmon recipe was on the list. Yuck!

We had this last week at our supper club, and I was surprised at how well I liked it. I thought the sauce was tangy, but had just the right amount of kick. This is a recipe I probably wouldn't have tried on my own, but am definitely going to make again.
