View Full Version : My Brandywine tomatos...

are beginning to ripen. Since I have never grown this variety, I'm a little unsure when they are ready to be eaten because they are not a "red" tomato. Can anyone give me any tips, and any super recipes would be appreciated. I'm planning on a mozz., basil and tomato salad, but am open to other ideas. Would these be good in salsa? Thanks in advance for any help! sally

According to my local agricultural extension service agent, pick tomatoes when fully colored but still firm. I'm sure this advice would go for Brandywines as well.
