View Full Version : Bread flour, All-purpose flour???
I accidentally pour bread flour into the jar I usually keep all-purpose flour. (I realized after I'd done!) Can anyone tell me what'd happen if you use bread flour as all-purpose flour for some recipes?

The major difference between all purpose and bread flour is that usually there is more protein and gluten in the bread flour. So, if you are making a cake, it might be tougher in texture. But, I generally don't see too much of a difference between the two and actually have been using all purpose in my breads and not really noticed much of a difference. If you think about it, bread flour only cam onto the market recently- before it existed people were still making great bread right?
I don't think that you have to worry.
