Monday morning and I hope a fresh beginning for everyone. I did good last week getting in 7 workouts. Friday was Cathe’s GS C & Tri’s, Saturday was Treadmill followed by Firm BSS2 Abs Wkt 1 concluding with the old Firm 5-day abs day 1. Sunday was Cathe’s GS L. I upped the weights on that one and even did some of the lunges (slow, static ones towards the end of the standing portion)!:D
I’m thinking that today will be a rest day and maybe do my nails, they need to be done and I think I need a rest.
But I must say I’ve been looking at those clips Cathe put out on YouTube and am really excited about STS but I better start working on that 1RM.
What’s anyone else doing?

Hey Michelle! Great job getting in 7 days last week - woo hoo!!!
Friday was our team building day and I went on a 6 mile hike (nothing like Valerie does but it was fun!!:D) I then did archery in the afternoon. I was pretty good!!
Sat was running around and Sunday I did Cardio Overdrive. I needed to work off those calories from our crabfest - much fun!!! Today was nothing as it was our last day at school before the kids arrive tomorrow. Hard to believe it all starts again!
After school tomorrow I plan on walking while Sam is at practice - that will be my Tues/Thurs schedule. My family bought me an ipod for my b'day so I can't wait to use it. The Ting Tings are my new favorite band!!!:D

Hi, everyone!! It's been a crazy couple of weeks. DS had whooping cough and we had to cancel his birthday party! Then he ran into some playground equiptment and got a huge black eye! It's been a time of dr appointments, trips to the pharmacy, long nights, etc. He's doing much better now, thank goodness.
I did manage to exercise some but didn't really meet my goals. Oh, well. Sometimes sleep is more important! Starting off a new rotation today -- Cathe's from August. Today I did LIC Timesaver Premix and the first segment of Stretchmax. Felt good!!
Michelle -- congrats on your workouts last week! You rock! I'm excited about STS but a little hesitant, too. Calculating my 1RM seems time consuming and maybe a little more complicated than I want. I don't have the right equiptment, either. My weights are plastic so the paceweights won't work for me at all. I'm not sure what to do about that.....so right now I'm not doing anything! I don't have anywhere to do pull ups or chin ups, either (not that I can do any!!!). I don't know...I guess I'll figure it out when the time comes.
Charisse - Your team building activities sound like fun! A nice way to get some extra exercise in. Shcool started for us on Monday. DS is excited -- thinks his teacher is really cool. I'm thrilled for him and hope it lasts. He's never hated school but he's never really loved it, either. Maybe this will be his year!

Ohhh Stacy your poor son!!! Is Whooping Cough common??? I'm so glad he's feeling better! And back at school.:)
I'm whooped myself! Great first day for both boys and for me! Really trying to get myself psyched to walk while Sam has practice! All I really want to do is take a nap!!;)

Michelle, great job on the workouts last week!! You're really getting back into the swing of things!
Stacy, wow, your poor son! I've heard whooping cough is making somewhat of a "comeback". Sounds like a horrible illness. Glad he's doing better. I'm doing Cathe's August rotation, too, but I'm just about done. Well, almost. This last week is the 4DS series rotated with cardio. So far I did 4DS kickbox yesterday, today I "cheated" on Cathe and did Tracey's High Intensity Step Mix 2 (fun!), tomorrow will be one of the 4DS workouts - not sure which one yet!
Charisse, mmmm, that crabfest sounds divine! I think I remember you posting about it last year. Hmmm, the Ting Tings? Never heard of them? I'll have to check them out. Music makes a huge difference when running/walking! Have fun!
We had a busy, busy weekend. We had my parents 50th anniversary party Saturday - lots of preparations! Everything turned out great and they really had a nice time. Jameson had a soccer tournament an hour away and had to be there at 7am both Saturday and Sunday morning. I took him both mornings. I was so tired Sunday I could barely function!
Happy workouts all!!

Whooping cough isn't common but unfortunately there's lots of whooping cough going around -- at least here. In Ft. Worth, TX, they say it's increased 165% for the first six months of 2008. I don't really know what the actual number of cases is but just about everyone knows someone who's had it or been exposed. They do vaccinate for it but evidently not this strain or the virus has mutated.
Charrise - Glad you all had great first days! Hope you enjoyed your walk. We're trying to get in a little more exercise with DS so we decided that we would walk on Friday after we all got home. I know I won't want to do it then but will be happy I did after it's done!
Joanne - Have you noticed that Cathe doesn't give a rest day during the last week of the August rotation?? Not sure if I'll be able to do it that way or not. It's really hard for me to get a workout in on Sunday and I look forward to my rest day! Congrats on your parents 50th! That's wonderful -- and glad your celebration turned out well.
This morning I did PUB and hope to get in one of the Coremax segments later today. See y'all tomorrow!

Good morning and happy hump day. Well I was successful in doing Cathe’s GS B, S & Bi. And I upped the weights for many of the moves. I’m a little sore all along my back but heck – that just means I worked.
I really like Cathe’s new site. I use the workout manager calendar and I also use the blog feature. Now to do the 1RM’s….
Tonight is treadmill with core and stretching.
Crazy here today so I guess I better cut things short.

I did Low Max this morning. It felt good but was tough! I still can't make it all the way through but can see that I'm improving.
MIchelle -- I like Cathe's new sight, too. I use the workout calendar and subscribed to the nutrition software. Still fighting those 15 lbs! I was hoping that the nutrition software would give me more information than WW, which it does. I'm not really seeing the results I'd hoped for yet but I really haven't tried to change too much -- I'm primarily tracking and watching calories.
Looking forward to a long weekend! No special plans, we're intentionally laying low. Maybe a littlel furniture shopping if we get to it. What's everyone else planning?

Stacy, I had to giggle - I saw PUB and thought of BEER;)
I stepped on the scale Tues am and just about fell off!!! Up 5 lbs!!! So I did Stepboxing yesterday - really watched my intake and did Fat Blasting Cardio today. I was down 3 lbs this morning but I know some of it is water weight... I probably need to check myself in 2 weeks - 2 weeks of school, less time to eat... We'll see.
Michelle - I'll have to check out Cathe's site - I like the idea of a workout manager!
Joanne - oh my gosh 7am?!! We have games an hour away as well but they don't have to be there until 8:30! No wonder you were tired!
We don't have much planned for this weekend. Maybe a get together on Sunday - nothing firm yet. It's supposed to clear up so maybe a last weekend in our pool!

Charisse - That's too funny! It certainly wasn't as much fun as BEER!! Good job reacting to the scale. It's just not fair that it can catch up to us so quickly. I've gained about 10 pounds over the last 8 months and it feels like I'm thickening around the middle. I hate it and just can't seem to find the right combination to get things moving again. It's so frustrating! Enjoy your weekend! We're trying to get some pool time in, too.
Today's workout was PLB and we're planning to walk a little after work tonight. Looking forward to it.
Have a great weekend everyone!

checking back in after a short vacation.... all Ok although not too many work outs. we did our regular 35 mile bike ride one day. I did a 20-20-20 workout with stationary bike, treadmill, and elliptical a couple times. we had planned on a backpack, but the weather pi$$ed out thoroughly so we ended up doing one 10 mile day hike that was a reasonable workout but not a killer. bad weather with snow, fog, rain and a low snow level. But I had a pair of new boots ( same as my old boots) but holy cow did I get sore. my older ones aren't badly worn out but the new ones apparently fit somewhat differently so my calves and ankles were screaming at me, and are still whining 3 days later. I did manage to get back up on the treadmill running slowly at 4% and my hip seems to be back in working order. we don't usually plan too much for labor day as it's the last big hiking/camping weekend and things get crowded... we'll try to fit in a dayhike if the weather cooperates.
we got out the mt bikes one day and drove to the trailhead only to find one flat tire and a new tube that didn't fit so a total waste of time. :( much of our 5 day vacation went that way...
this has been a summer without much "summer" here. our garden is pathetic and mountain conditions have been more october than august.
Congrats to everyone for hanging in and keeping up the workouts ... I am still astonished at how a little wandering off the diet can instantly do so much damage!
