I have seen these and am interested in finding a good recipe. Do you marinate them and if so in what? How long does it take to grill them, etc, etc?

Hi Terry - If you're talking about baby bok choy, I've never seen them grilled. What an interesting idea. I don't see why not, though - if you can grill fresh fennel I'm sure you can grill bok choy. We usually chop up and stir-fry it. Where's Kim, the Grill Queen? :)

Ok, I got curious and did an internet search and found this recipe:
(From foodtv.com)
GRILLED BOK CHOY WITH SPICY VINAIGRETTE
All recipes courtesy of Gourmet Magazine
2 heads bok choy, cleaned and sliced into serving pieces
vinaigrette:
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon chili sauce
Salt and pepper
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 scallions, chopped
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
In a bowl, combine vinegar, chili sauce and season with salt and pepper. Whisk in oil. Stir in scallions and sesame seeds.
Heat grill and lay bok choy pieces on hot grill. Grill 2 to 5 minutes until crisp tender. Dress with vinaigrette.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Difficulty: Easy

Also this info from pikeplacemarket.org:
Bok choy is also delicious grilled. Brush with sesame oil and grill it until tender, then drizzle with soy sauce. Bok choy is high in calcium and other nutrients.

For those who might be interested, I discovered that there's a band in California called The Bok Choy Boys, whose hits include "Fry, Fry, Fry" and "I Want My Chow Mein". :D
thanks kathryn. sounds great! i just found a great farmers market here (well, i always knew it was here, but stupid me didn't go until this week - the huge crowds always scared me away, but not anymore!)
i think i'll try this next week, maybe with some teriyaki chicken or something. i wonder if DH will mind eating 'bok choy'... he's usually pretty good about trying new things, so hopefully it will be ok!
