I have read all the great reviews regarding this dessert, but I can' find Lady Fingers at any of the local food markets. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!!:)

I always use pound cake (store bought usually), sliced about 1/4 inch thick. I've made this recipie and it's very good.

maybe a sponge cake would work too.

I had a hard time finding lady fingers also, but I finally ended up finding them in the "ethnic" section of a medium-sized grocery in the Italian section. Good luck in your search.

I love Tiramisu and would love to make the CL ones, but I too have trouble finidng Lady Fingers. I know that sometimes the grocery store bakery will have them, either in the case or close by.

Good Luck! I sympathize with you :(

I just made this the other night....I bought the lady fingers at an italian deli...they also had the mascarpone cheese.....It was pretty good, but I think I like the other CL recipe better (tiramisu anacapri?)....it uses custard instead of the cheese, which has a strong flavor to it...
The other adjustment I made was using Captain Morgan's spiced rum instead of Kahlua...it makes it a little more authentic.....
Good luck!!!

if you want something lighter than pound cake, angel food cake works great as well! :D

I have always found lady fingers in the frozen foods section of my grocery store. Usually somewhere close to the frozen desserts. I use two packages of the frozen lady fingers for this recipe.

[COLOR=indigo] I have found them at both Trader Joes and at Whole Foods.

I have to add that my DH and I like the tiramisu that uses the beaten egg whites the best. I got it from "The best of" issue, April '98.
Lady fingers are in the bakery section of our grocery store, if they're not out they usually have them frozen in back.

THANK YOU for all the great suggestions! I'll try looking for the Lady Fingers at other stores or will make it with angel or pound cake.
