I'll get us started this week! Welcome to Fall!!! This is one of my favorite times of year - the weather is starting to cool (a lot to be said for Texas). I always get more interested in cooking, too - warm, homey foods; soups & stews, etc.

Welcome, Anna! You might be on to something - it may be a good idea to rethink your fitness routine. I've been using Cathe's workouts for about nine months. Prior to that, I didn't do any serious weight training, either, and I did a lot of the same thing. I got bored & didn't really enjoy working out. Now I'm really mixing things up. I like the variety and the results. Cathe's workouts are tough, no question, but I started out with only a step and 3, 5 & 8 lbs handweights. I did what I could then increased as I got stronger. It happened a lot quicker than I expected! There are a lot of different kinds of workouts and many, many instructors. I'm sure there's a good combination out there for you.

Saturday I did Maximum Strenth Intensity. Wow! I think this is Cathe's toughest strength DVD. I think it's harder than Muscle Max!! At one point, she's doing tricep dips on the step with a 35 lb barbell in her lap.....notice I said "she"! I was whipped at that point and just looked that the TV with my mouth hanging open. Sunday was a much needed day of and this moring I did Power Hour.

Hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

Thanks for the warm welcome, and the encouragement.

I think my main issue just now is that I need to just get up and get moving, and somehow my current stash of exercise tapes just doesn't thrill me, so shaking things up is probably my best bet.

I am really liking Straight Up Stick, though. I hear Gin's coming out with a new one soon about getting a workout in a relatively small space, and that the Straight Up Stick will be offered with it as a freebie. (SUS also comes with the Salsa Walk dvd, but that didn't float my boat, so I got the single dvd)

HUH?!!!!! Oh my! I'd probably be on my back!!!:p Great job Stacy - and thanks for starting us off for the week - I love fall too.... football, roasts, soups, pumpkin anything:D

Welcome Anna!! The more the merrier:D

I had a super busy weekend. Sam had a sleepover bday party Sat night (after a day of soccer games) - then it was playing catchup on Sunday. I did squeeze in an hour walk with my friend.

Today I did BSS3 with Stephanie - whoozamama!!! I totally forget that I'm not doing alot of weight work with my current FIRM DVD's. I was struggling. but it feels so good!!

Goals for the week - STAY AWAY from Tootsie rolls and candy corn - argh! Here's to a new week everyone!!

Anna - I'll have to take a look at SUS. I like Gin! The first home exercise tape I had that got any use at all was Step Reebok. We even bought it on DVD and still use it some today! It's early '80's but doesn't look as dated as a lot of others.

Charisse - I had to laugh when you mentioned candy corn.....I bought some this weekend! But I haven't opened the package yet. I made some bars last year that had rice crispies, peanuts, peanut butter & candy corn...plus some other stuff. They were really good; tasted like a payday. I want to make them again but I'll have to have a strategy to get them out of the house. Good job on your workout! Did you know that the Firm has a new gadget & DVD series coming out? They call it the Wave. I read about it on the Cathe boards.

Ohhhhhhh man!!! I'm gonna ride the wave!!!:D Looks like a cool gadget - I think I would have to be really careful - I tend to be accident prone!:p Thanks for the link Stacy - I'll have to really check this out.

The Wave does look fun, but also like a good way to hurt yourself, LOL!!

I think I'd rather get a trampoline. At least those look about as dangerous as they are. :)

I walked yesterday during soccer practice. I have my walk down to 50 mins and a good clip!:)

Today I need to run a few errands after school - will try for a sculpting DVD.

I think The Wave looks fun but I would worry about falling off, too!! I've been known to fall off my step and that's not moving! :D It seems like it would be very good for the core, though. Never thought of a trampoline - now that really scares me!

Today I did Low Max. Quite proud of myself - I completed six of the seven intervals! I haven't done that in a while. If I'd had time, I would have done the last one, too. Always happy to see work paying off.

Woo hoo - go Stacy!!! Good for you!:)

I did Time Crunch from the FIRM. I won't have time to workout tomorrow as it's Back to School night for my 6th grader. Friday we're supposed to head up to PSU for the football game. The boys will stay here with my MIL and go to their own soccer games on Saturday.

How are the workouts going Anna?

How about you Leah? Are you around this week?

Sweetpea? Engineer? Valerie (are you on vacation?)

Happy Wednesday everyone:)

Eh, well, no major breakthroughs, but a friend and I are planning to walk the Ocean Springs/Biloxi bridge sometime soon. I hope it turns into a habit. Apparently walking halfway is a good plan to start with, it's a LONG bridge with lots of ups and downs. It was built after Katrina, and is really impressive. They built a pedestrian walkway specifically so people could do this, and it sounds great. Apparently the view is pretty cool.
