Review - Chicken Schawarma, CL 7/08

Everyone liked this one but me, I found the flavors to be rather mild and one dimensional. The "sauce" was extremely thick as well.

That said, DH and boys really enjoyed it and asked for it to be put on the rotation. :) My oldest said that it reminded him of the street food he got in Germany this summer.

I guess it's a repeater! I'll have to fiddle with the sauce and maybe marinate the chicken a bit longer.

I made this dish last month and I really enjoyed it. It was different than what I usually make and I think that was a good part of the appeal. I'm definitely going to use the marinade again and perhaps serve the chicken over rice.

Thanks Joe. :) I searched, but obviously didn't do a very good job.

Jess - I think that's why my guys liked it, because it was so totally different than anything else I have made recently.

I guess I'm putting it into rotation. My oldest came home after school and scarfed up the leftovers. Now maybe I'd better figure out how to make Naan (I served it with the shawarma last night) - I'll go broke buying it!!!
