Hey all! I know some of you were looking for some sangria recipes to try with the new Spanish recipes in the August issue. My MIL is from Seville, Spain so I asked her for her recipe. Here it is exactly as she sent it to me! Hope you like it! She's "famous" for it in our family (who are all non-Spanish--except her kids of course--my DH--who are half-Spanish!)
1 cup sugar
2 cans of concentrate Five Alive or other citrus juice.
1 bottle of wine, the redder and cheaper the better
1 big bottle of Sprite or other citrus flavored soft drink
Ice
Some times you can "spice" it with other hard liquor, if you have some that you would like to get ride of.
Some pieces of lemon or orange or both, or other fruit that is not too slimy.
