I am thankful because it is my last Friday as a Kelly Services Temp. The position I have been filling for the last 14 months as a temporary employee has been made permanent. I go through formal orientation on Monday. :D

And, my mom is coming to visit for 2 weeks and she has not been out to visit for about 10 years. My dad passed away in August after a long term illness (we all miss him!) and she will be able to come to visit. :D:D

What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful that I have a fulfilling job on this Friday; one that allows me great healthcare and ample breaks to read this BB. :p I'm thankful that I'm looking forward to a weekend filled with friends, family and great food!

I'm thankful for my wonderful DH. I'm thankful for having food on my table, a roof over my head, and the means to pay my bills. I'm thankful that my family is healthy and happy.

I was just thinking the other day that it was time for a thankful thread! What sparked it was a very funny e-mail from a friend that I have made since relocating to SD. When I received the e-mail, I was so thankful to have such a good friend here and for her wittiness that makes me laugh.

I also am thankful for having a very supportive husband who does the laundry in our house and loves me despite my up and down weight gains/losses and many flaws.

I am thankful for my children whom I love dearly - even when the sibling rivalry at times makes me want to lock myself in the bathroom for a mom/referee time-out.

And...I'm thankful that it is Fall - and the changing colors and the cooler air - and the long braises and stews to cook on weekends.

This morning, I read a newspaper article about a mom whose advanced, metastasized breast cancer was diagnosed when she was in the hospital after delivering her third child. :( (She's still living, but planning also.)

Upon reading that, I thought of how thankful I am for my imperfect yet healthy body. So what if it's not a size 4 anymore. Who cares. I am thankful for my marriage and DH; my healthy, wonderful kids; my overall life with all its busyness that has been driving me nuts lately just because I haven't stopped to be thankful for all the things that have been overfilling my schedule.

Thanks for this thread. :)

I am thankful for this summer of change. As much as I love skiing this summer has been incredible to me and will always be the summer that I found me. I am thankful for the friends and family who have supported me through this and continue to be there for me day in and day out.

I am also thankful for this picture. That's right people, ski season has begun! I'm headed up this weekend to make my first turns of the season. http://www.theskidiva.com/forums/images/smilies/ski2.gif

:D:D Robyn, where on earth did you find that smilie! How perfect for you!!!

I'm thankful that DD2 is working! It's not in her chosen field, and it's all commission, but if she's successful, she'll get benefits, and it's a job to fall back on!

I'm also thankful for DH who is a constant support and a wonderful guy! And I'm thankful for my church family and friends! And DH's family, who loves me. And for my dogs, who do also!;)

I am thankful the job I was procrastinating on extended its deadline and I don't have to work under pressure today.

I'm thankful that dh's illness is being addressed with a simple adjustment of his thyroid medication.

I'm thankful for my two smart, funny, entertaining (and challenging) boys.

I'm thankful my sweet pup is no longer in pain.

I'm thankful for the cat we adopted who fills the hole in our hearts and gives us someone to pet and love.

I'm thankful for my health.

I'm thankful for my sister who is there for me constantly.

I'm thankful for my wonderful dh and our strong marriage.

And not to make this political, but I'm thankful it's almost November 4th. ;)

I am thankful for my DH, DS and wonderful "football" family I have found over the last 5 years. Thankful for my health and the health of my family!

Of course, to this BB. I know that I very rarely post here anymore, but I enjoy all the posts none the less.

I'm thankful to this great country that I live in. Everyday I see how generous Americans truly are! I'm thankful that I'm able to vote in this great country. (Although Im ready for this election to be over already!!!!).
