I think that it was too long? Anyway, wanted to wish the best to Ecrisafi, we are hoping that a friendship develops!

My DH was 40 and never married when we met, I was divorced and of course, much younger (wink, wink). He hated cats, but we got Sophie 3 years ago, and he comes home for lunch to eat with her. Anyone who is highly allergic to cats, there are meds. you can take, I am now on Allegra, works great for me. Don't think I can do more than one, but I have promised DH that if he dies before I do, I will affectionately be known as that "crazy lady down the street with 13 cats".

Diana, your two cats are adorable, my Sophie is a Bombay Cat also!! I think that is the polite name for a Halloween black cat, bad rap!!

Hey, Susan -

Another Bombay owner! Wow! Usually I say 'He's a Bombay' and people say "Huh?" Is your Sophie as big a scaredy-cat as my BJ?

I went a few years wondering if I was wierd and getting the 'So... you never married...' comments from relatives when I attended weddings. Or the 'Gosh, you aren't married? What's wrong with people here? Are they blind?'

Since they're trying to be complimentary, I can't exactly bare my teeth and reduce them to cinders with a comeback remark. I've learned to just smile and say something like, "Gosh, Uncle Joe, if I could just find a man like you..."

You are one up on them, and realize that they really do mean what they think is in your best interest, as bizarre as it sounds! I wished I had had your Uncle Joe line, that is a keeper!!

Sophie is a bold and brazen little cat, 7 1/2 lbs of determination. Not frightened a bit and must always get what she wants! Wouldn't want her any other way :)
