I think this is probably not difficult but I'm not clear on what to do.
Have a HP deskjet printer. had a paper jam, extracted the paper according to the manual. I can print a diagnostic page and a test page but the printer seems to have lost communication with the computer. when I send a document to print, nothing happens at all. I tried turning everything on and off, several times, but still no response. I tried printing from Word rather than from the internet but nothing. (I tried calling HP Tech support but spent at least 60 frustrating minutes giving information and getting my call dropped twice. I never did talk to anyone, and called back a 3rd time just to make sure they don't bill me.)
I 'm thinking there's probably nothing wrong with either printer or computer but something needs to be reset. everything is plugged in, and I never disconnected anything. Can someone point me in the right direction here? TIA! I will probably not be checking back here until tomorrow.
