I made the Indonesian chicken in the August issue and it was delicious. I was delighted that the marinade didn't drip on the coals and burn the chicken. Also made the zucchini suggested at the end and not one piece was left.

I made this on Sunday night also -- a delicious marinade. I did marinate the chicken for about 2 hours, as opposed to the 30 minutes suggested in the recipe. My husband loved it -- a definite repeater recipe.

The August issue really is filled with great recipes!

I made Indonesian Chicken a couple of days ago. It tasted fine, but I wasn't all that impressed with it. However, it did taste better after a couple of days in the fridge! Maybe marinating way longer than 30 minutes is the key. And go ahead and add the extra pepper flakes -- and more garlic while you're at it. It didn't taste bad by any means. I just thought that the many flavors in it ran together. With that ingredient list, I was expecting something multi-layered, complex; all I could taste was soy sauce!

An easy, inoffensive recipe. But I've had better chicken cutlets. It's not likely that I'll make this again.

We made this last night, finally. I finally broke down and bought a bottle of hoisin sauce. It was very good- I stuck to the recipe (except for extra garlic) and let it marinate for about an hour. I would make it again, as it was so simple and really tasty. Sweet hoisin, spicy red pepper. I didn't think the soy sauce was too prevalent- just added tang.

In the making we broke the law! We've been under a burn ban, including charcoal grilling, since early summer. It rained all day yesterday, so I figured we were safe. :p It's the first grilling we've done since June!

we finally made this yesterday. i marinated the chicken for 1-2 hours. the result? it was good, but we probably won't make it again. i'm with makedah in that i think there are many other good recipes to make with boneless skinless chicken breasts. (confession: i actually made this with a little less red pepper and thought it was spicy enough!!:o)
