So, we bought a house last spring and I am trying to decorate it. I posted a while back with kitchen questions....and since then met with a designer and a refacer....refacer quoted 80K and designer 110K....so that isn't happening in this economy when we haven't even sold our previous home yet  Plus, there is a very good chance my DH will be transferred in the next couple of years...so, while I have to make this house our home, I can't get too crazy with remodels....so, I am focusing on paint and windows at the moment. And, very focused on furniture, since we've moved from an urban townhouse to a big house in the burbs and need lots of stuff.
Anywho, to the question at hand. We have an open floorplan. The kitchen and sunroom open to the family room. The kitchen has oak cabinets which I must live with for now, but I'll paint the walls and here is a link to the Benjamin Moore Color deck (sorry, it won't let me link the actual colors).

So, here is what I am thinking....
Kitchen/Sunroom: Benjamin Moore- Cloudy Sky (2122-30)
For the family room, I want to use our standby beige that I've gotten compliments on everywhere I've used it in the past:
Benjamin Moore- Brookline Beige (HC-47)
The Hallway (including rear staircase) which fronts to both the kitchen and the family room will be:
Benjamin Moore- Old Prairie (2143-50)
So, my question is this....we've got coffered ceilings in the family room. What do you think I should do with them? I want a color on the beams and in the ceiling. I was thinking of doing the beams in BM Najavo White
But, I am open to suggestions. And, for the ceiling...what would look good? Take the wall color and cut by 50%? Use a variant of the wall color in the kitchen? Ugh, I am not sure what to do. Has anyone else done something cool in their coffered ceilings? Thoughts appreciated!
