I've seen the commercial on TV & I have to admit, I'm intrigued. There aren't a whole lot of ab machines at the gym & I really don't relish the thought of doing crunches on their floor. Plus it looks like it might be easier on the lower back than just lying flat on the floor...

Me too....intrigued, that is! I'll be interested to hear if anyone has one. The other infomercial that always makes me want to buy is the Hip Hop Abs.

I think a bosu is more versatile. It will also cushion your lower back.
I used it in a few core classes at the gym and it is great. I bought myself one too for when the weight area is too crowded or when the personal trainers are using them all with their clients.

I don't own a Bender Ball, but my former personal trainer had one that she like to torture me with. ;) My gym also has a few that I use for abs from time to time. The Bender really does engage the abs, but I don't know if I'd get enough use out of one to justify the cost. When working with my trainer, she also had me do leg exercises with it- inner thigh and hamstring if I remember correctly. Maybe you could ask your gym to purchase one? (But that wouldn't fix your problem of not wanting to lay on the floor of the gym.)
I have used a bosu quite a bit, and agree that it is much more versatile. The first time I did ab work on the bosu, it kicked my butt. It's great for working on balance, too.
