I don't often get excited about the recipes in F & W- a little on the chi chi side for me; too ingredient and labor intensive. The September issue, however, has much that caught my eye. If you are not a regular subscriber, you might want to take a look at the this issue when it hitsthe newsstand.
There is a section on Basil, and some lovely, simple recipes; a recipe for Majorcan Tumbet that fits wonderfully with CL's Spanish theme this month; a section on "fast" recipes that take advantage of everything that is currently and becoming ripe in our gardens and at the Farmer's Market (a Sauteed Mixed greens with Olives and Ricotta Salata that I plan to make with CL's Polenta with Red Pepper and Fontina); and a whole series of recipes from the Gascony region of France that I think I could actually make!
Also, and of no small consequence, there is a section on inexpensive wines of high quality that are easily found in the U.S.
